Excellent for a first time worker as quality controller. great and usefull working experience
the workers are as nice and easy to work with as may possibbly be expected. i have learnt so much from working with different people with different personalities. working under pressure and producing as accurate results as possible even if it meant i had to work overtime. most of all i enjoyed the instruments and learning new things and heing exposed to what i was not exposed to at varsity. the most challenge was when the instruments would give problems but it was also a lesson because i learnt to take care of everything in my power unless its out of my control.

Good company

Excellent learning curve
It was and still is a good learning curve but boring at times because it's mostly routine work. I have come to enjoy the Lab environment as it is controlled and maybe also because that is what I have studied at school. On the other hand though, the packing department also provides so many challenges that it's addicting for me, as someone who is constantly looking to be challenged and stretched to greater heights. Everyday it's something new and also working with a lot of people in the packing side, I have found and established my identity amongst a lot of people (with their different characters).
Pros: Provides with extensive experience and also allows you to pry.

Experienced in both chemical and microbiological
The typical work day for was to calibrate all instruments/ lab equipment which will be used for that particular day and then record all the neccessary information into an assigned file. This is done before commencing your shift. In terms of co-workers I have a strong relationship with them in such a way that we discuss everything whether it's personal or work related matter. What I have learnt is that from each and every individual you learn something new irregardless of that person has more experience than you or relative new. Above all when you train someone on a specific station you become more experience.

Good Company to work for
A very good company to work for. I would retire here if I have to. They are using relevant technology. I come from a standard SAP environment and here I have learnt a customised environment. I like the open door policy and that anyone can go to the CIO's office to address or suggests matters. I also like that people's ideas are taken seriously.

It is quite a pleasure working at Distell, very different from the mining sector I come from. Daily and weekly duties includes managing the main data system, scheduling of preventative and reactive works, Chair the daily production meeting, shutdown meetings and weekly planning meetings. Compile reports to upper management with regards to cost centre management, machine efficiency,overall equipment utilisation and shutdown plans. Contractor management and sourcing of equipment components are my main duties too. RCFA and adjudicating quality and standards are done weekly or monthly pending on the need.
