Excellent learning opportunities

Makro is one of the best retail company in Southern Africa. It has taught me a lot in the last few years. It is company that perfects itself in the best customer service and opportunities to grow within the company, by providing necessary training through internships and other opportunities.

Great work experiance

I coordinate food safety at Makro and over look at all food service providers within the store. I am enjoying driving compliance to regulations and laws in the store because i am forever passionate about food safety. I have learned to interact and work well with multi disciplinary groups of people from various back grounds.

Excellent learning curve

Fast paced and deadline driven enviroment. Typical corporate environment. People achieve goals and are accountable for their work. Company benefits are better than the industry norm. Working for the company can be challenging but also rewarding depending on how you see yourself in the business.

Human Resources Training Manager

I am in the possession of Human resources management degree and I have sound knowledge of human resources policies, processes, systems and procedures, and I am able to interpret policies. I have 7 years’ experience in human resources and I have interpersonal skills that enable me to communicate well with different people from the different departments. I have strong desire and ability to contribute to the development of human resources management team. Good working knowledge of employment-related laws and sound industrial relation practices. High energy, self-starter who has the ability to be proactive, can act independently on own initiative and has excellent planning, organizing and controlling skills with proven ability to meet all deadlines.

Excellent learning curve

Most definitely room for growth. If customer service is your passion you'll take pride in being an embassador for the company. Managers claim to have open door policy but not always the case. Continuous Employee Development is not always open to all.

Pros: good perks being a permanent employee
Cons: if you don't belong to union company doesn't really look after you.

Makro Management

Work 12 days. In and 2 days off. Last customer every second week which is 8am to anything from 17:30 to 18:45 depending on how it takes to clear Store. No overtime except for Sunday time. Great for development.
