I am able to interact with lots of customers ,which is a learning curve because some customers are angry some extra sweet and understanding, I like everything about my team because we encourage one another to perform well, this job has taught me to be strong and to deal with any type of personality,most challenging aspect of my Job is when you are unable to resolve a customer query because u don not have access to some systems and you escalate but nothing is resolved, and customer is frustrated, and they think you don't want to help

The nature of the current job involves a great deal of independent research, requiring initiative, self motivation and wide range of skills for the course of the call centre agent an understanding of customer service industry was essential. I found this subject very stimulating
Pros: mtn is a big company so there were alot of job opportunities
Cons: worked normal hours 7am to 4pm but I also worked weekends

Good hard work
Am a lady who's able 2 work hard, n good looking.love 2 work nice with people.the things dat I dnt like is gossiping,if someone have a problem we solver as soon as possible, I love working with people nice n ever smiling

Its lot of leaning when you meet different customers across the worl
My responsibility are help customers with the problem on the turn around time and making sure that are happy and making sure that service and products are always available to them and also do merchandising and ordering stock and doing monthly stock take and annualy

Fast growing company
shipping of handsets by scanning and checking that the correct quantity and correspondence invoice and manifesto go together to the customer. friendly colleagues always good to work together. team work is very important always be helpful to fellow co-workers. given the responsibility as a health and safety and also a first aider. when we have to reach our targets and its way too much that`s very challenging but always good.

I learnt a lot about how the business is run and the challenges it may face.
It was a wonderful experience. Learnt a lot about work ethics, learnt what is expected of me as a customer service consultant. I also learnt about the company's policies, the importance to adhere to them. The importance of creating and protecting the brand.

Diversified my technical and managerial skills
The working hours were between 8h00 and 17h00. I managed a team of high performers with a technical background. Managed to strengthen my management and leadership skills. Attended management courses which aided in my empowerment. The most challenging aspect were the long hours which one had to put in.
Pros: Managed 10 to 20 direct reports.

Team player
I do mouth to mouth with new client s everyday, explain a product that is in box explain to a client how it works and benefit of having it ,before the customers can buy my product they buy me because I am professional ,clean and well dressed, I capture a customer on a system to check if they qualifies if yes I continue with a sale and close a deal ,I am a team player with my colleagues I held a team building meeting every Friday before we can open a store ,my typical work day it to give a professional customer service to all customers I enjoy talking to my clients about what I am selling and demonstrate to them while I am showing them a dummy I have learnt to keep the consistency, I am a friendly person to my colics the most challenging aspects of the job is when I have to go out and do marketing give plamflets to the people on the street but it helps a lot .
Pros: If we do promotions we get more customers in store especially with large packages a great opportunity about promotions is sometimes customers don't even now about us or how we work buy doing promotions it benefit the business a lot
Cons: I work on holidays,sometimes I will cone to work during my off days to reach my target,long working hours especially when I we short staff,I will start my shift early to push my sales ,sometimes I font take my brake normally to push sales an knock off late for stock taking and other events

Excellent leaning curve and an eye opener to the corporate sector
Working in a 24/7 environment in most cases the is never a typical day at work so we always try to make the best of each day that comes which makes working with my colleagues such a bliss all different individuals in such a big company which grew into a multinational corporate has opened my eyes to how something small can grow from believe and pursuing the same values and goals to create different channels of communication and sustain the livelihood of ordinary South Africans with innovative products and services , I enjoyed the knowledge i obtained thru internal programs and the discipline which came with the 24/7 environment which means day and night we work including holidays after all people need to communicate

Learning of new skills
MTN has been a great company to work for. The loyalty to the brand is evident even now. I worked predominantly in the call centre focusing on performance / people management, reporting and day to day management of soft skills. Managing people and the different personalities is always a fact that needs to be dealt with, but I feel that the skill set required to deal with the different personalities and change in management styles to suit the environment is essential. I have always enjoyed working in the call centre. Offering world class customer service and training and developing of staff to that end has been a passion.

Cons: Growth Potential was limited due to the success rate of converting temp to perm staff within a short period of time
