Pearson Institute of Higher Education Reviews

Excellent learning curve. Gaining experience. Gaining training

I have an excellent work ethic and prove to be very efficient in every job task handed to me. I take charge and always look for a way to improve and do better. The most challenging parts of work is working with difficult line managers who wants to employ candidates faster then necessary. Typical day at work would be sourcing candidates for a vacancy through Taleo system and start long listing and short listing. Finally getting through to screening and inviting candidates for interviews.

Pros: Flexible working hours
Cons: Restructuring

Excellent Learning Curve

The daily duties that the HEC does the following. Conduct presentations at the schools informing the student about the different courses we have to offer, call the students of the different event we have every month, Invite prospects for interview and register them for the following year. We also plan outreaches, there each HEC meets up with the students and the parents and they fill out documentation. Each HEC has targets every month. so it will be registration targets, interview targets and call target. We also have an administration day where we have to load the registration, load leads and also do proof of registration for the student. That is the daily routine of an HEC

Pros: Commission we get for the registration we get
Cons: Consequences when we do not reach target

Development, Good company culture

We are a remote campus, based in Port Elizabeth, we have around 200 students and staff work closely together with each other. We have excellent relationships, everybody always willing to assist where they can. A typical work day- most staff start at 08h00, I have an academic support class with first year students, after class i'll be attending meetings , doing some filing, dealing with student queries if any arise, printing of transcripts. I've grown tremendously within the company, my managers have trust in me they are the ones who saw potential in me, by making me run training and induction with all new students, I have a really strong bond with our students.

Pros: Close working relationships
Cons: Salary

Excellent learning curve

The Higher Education Consultant has monthly targets where they need to register students who are currently in grade 12 from different schools around the Port Elizabeth area and outside. we also have administration days where we have to load students on the sales force. We even organise outreaches where we visit schools and meet with parents so that we register students for the following year and secure a place in our campus.

Pros: The incentives you get when you reach target
Cons: The consequences of not reaching target

.

In addition to the formal education, through training, I have acquired additional knowledge and relevant skills and throughout the years of working with projects within the city. I have also acquired a wide range of experience. I have run individual projects where I introduced novel ideas and feel that also I will be in a position of doing the same. I have excellent service levels that will bear testimony from the people that I will serve. I have strong and convincing management and motivational skills. I have the ability to establish rapport over a diverse cultural spectrum.I am also able to diffuse challenging situations into mutually beneficial, solution-based outcomes. I have well developed powers of self-expression and capable of self-discovery, self-renewal and self-improvement. My tenacious attitude will be reflected in my day-to-day work activities. I will be loyal to the vision and mission statements of the work situation.

Pros: learning new things everyday
Cons: Not being permanent

Real world ready

It was very eye opening, and got me thinking more like an employee rather than a student. It made me real-world ready. I worked with an amazing team who supported my learning curve every step of the way. The most challenging task of the job would be sharing responsibility, I'm a perfectionist at heart, so I had to learn to let my guard down and trust my colleagues, which was really a learning experience for me. I got to learn how to apply everything I learnt in class in the workplace which was really cool. I enjoyed the experience as it added in to my expertise and knowledge.

Pros: Great experience
Cons: Time consuming
