Pearson Institute of Higher Education Reviews

Terrible learning curve

The company does not value its employees, the only thing they care about is making money. Sometimes salaries are late, like a week late. A typical work day is coming in at 8am and dealing with students and knocking off at 17;00. Co-workers are really cool to work with, it is only the managers that are a problem as complaints are not taken serious, you are not giving resources to do your work, you just have to make the best out of nothing.

Pros: Great facilities
Cons: No opportunity for growth

Academic Support and Development Manager

A My workday includes individual assessments on students as well as classvisits to teach individualised study methods. I work well with all my peers and they send all at risk students to me for assessments. I love my students and get great satisfaction when they progress and become confident and motivated in their studies.

Excellent Learning Experience

My role required communication with most stakeholders of the business, it gave me an opportunity to learn the inside of the business from the user's perspective.

Pros: My role required communication with most stakeholders of the business, it gave me an opportunity to learn the inside of the business from the user's perspective.
Cons: With all BA roles having to navigate company politics meant i had to be on toes all the time in order to steer away, however still hold my ground as someone who at the end of the day still had a project to deliver

Real world ready

It was very eye opening, and got me thinking more like an employee rather than a student. It made me real-world ready. I worked with an amazing team who supported my learning curve every step of the way. The most challenging task of the job would be sharing responsibility, I'm a perfectionist at heart, so I had to learn to let my guard down and trust my colleagues, which was really a learning experience for me. I got to learn how to apply everything I learnt in class in the workplace which was really cool. I enjoyed the experience as it added in to my expertise and knowledge.

Pros: Great experience
Cons: Time consuming
