I have no challenges with my current job/ as am a fast learner

Review for SASSA Grant Administrator

Review for SASSA Grants Administrator Working for SASSA has provided me with great personal interaction and communication skills coupled with opportunities to enhance my personal development and group working skills. On a typical day I would get to work and check my email, log into the system to start with the capturing of all present clients. After all the follow ups are done, I would start on the new work which has been assigned to my queue. In a team there are about 15 administrators doing different task depending on each one's skill set. Working as a team is important at SASSA as the work is passed on from one employee to another The average administrator stays in that position for 5 years. That was the hardest thing about the job for me because I am a person who thrives on progress and is inspired by growth. Management send out stats daily, monitor the team and go to meeting most of the time. It is a high pressure area but there is a lot of freedom to be yourself and innovative.

Pros: growth opportunities, yearly bonus, medical aid, pension fund, good working environment
Cons: long distance from home, long working hours, sitting for too long

It is a very good industry to learn.

ensure that all accounts are paid . reconcilition of all accounts. individual recons, clear suspense accounts, do virements where necessary. i have a very good relationship with my co- workers. i have learned so many areas of finance, to account and ensure that payments are done timeosly. i do enjoy to interact with different sections because it helps me to know different views from others. the most challenging aspects is that i depend to other sections to accomplish my tasks and the pressure from the clients.

Pros: flexible working hours
Cons: cant be promoted

Things are fine but also expecting new ways criminals use to commit crime

My typical day starts when I receive a new case. I have to do preliminary investigation to see where it is a genuine allegation or not. If it is a genuine allegation I will register it on our database. I will start with the investigation by collecting documentation relevant to the case and identify people to be interviewed. Analysed the collected information and draft the investigation report. Submit the report to the manager for review and the manager will sign the report if he is happy with it. If the report involves internal staff member the report has to be submitted to HoD and there after to Labour Relations for disciplinary. Testifying at the disciplinary hearing. If it involves external member a case will be opened with the police. I will then provide support to either of the two (labour relations or police) with the necessary support until the case is finalised. In all the stages i updated the status of the case on database and I also record on the investigation diary.

Pros: Developing myself
Cons: Constant changing of strategies
