Great company to work for
Great company to wwork for. i HAD A GRood time working for S32 as a general rule. THey have good values and a strong sence of corporate direction. THey have gone and narrowed their commodoty profile which makes their focus narrower and more focussed. They also are continuously looking for opportunities to expand and grow aas a company in order for the them to improve turnover and investor divedent return while looking to minimise capital spend.

Experienced minerals processing metallurgist with over 18 years experience in the mining industry
I currently review all the major contracts in my company including contracts spends and performance compliance KPIs. I mostly interact with contract owners like superintendents and HODs and discuss contracts performance as well as strategize on improvement initiatives. I have learnt a lot in terms of contract management especially regarding cost management and budget management. I enjoy the fact that I am still involved in daily operations and execution of the operation. I also enjoy being the middleman providing guidance and coaching which comes natural due to my experience in the mining industry. The most challenging part is being a coach and also having to be independent as the nature of my job is not to be too involved in decision making around operations but merely to be a support role and advise on best practices. Most of my former colleagues still call me to ask for advice on problem solving and best practices regarding process operations and conflict resolutions.

Great learning environment
It is a good company that is very big on safety. The company is dedicated to keeping their employees as happy as possible. I have learned work ethic and working as team. We are currently in a Global business centre so team work is vital.

I need new challenges and differently work scenary
The real reason why you find people leave good jobs and great companies it not because of not being compensated enough or fairly, it is simply because of poor management tactics/systems. I believe a happy and well taken care of employee works more efficiently, safely and creates a healthy work environment.

Good learning experience, but slow for my aptitude.
I am currently being trained to be a condition monitoring specialist to take over the role in the next 2 years. We plan our own work in accordance with the plant availablity. I take vibration readings, ultrasonic readings, and oil sampling, occassionally do alignment jobs. Since Covid-19 came, all my courses were cancelled for CAT ll, Thermography, and Oil analysis with Wearcheck. The plant is not as big. We do condition monitoring on both surface plant and underground plant.
Pros: Job is flexible, chance for promotion is bleak.
Cons: Learning is slow paced, less challenges.

Learning new things everyday, culture and people's behaviour
It is always good to work for a company that is eager to let you grow as an individual, allow career development. A well developed individual is like a well oiled machine and a happy EE is a productive EE. I'm one person who is so grounded, respectful and that alone helps me to have a great relationship with my colleagues and people in my class. I have learned that if you value someone opinions and give them floor to express themselves than you will have a safe and productive Team, and I enjoy working with other people and meeting targets. I hate shortcuts and people who takes shortcuts.
