i work with clients on a daily basis on the phone to assist them with their claim proccessing, from opening a claim, servicing the claim and finalising claim, challengs that we face on daily basis is dealing with frustrated clients who experience rather traumatic situation such as storm damages to their homes...it has however thought me how to be calm and accept all that the work brings to me, because we do deal with difficult clients which can make your day go bad, but with the experience i got and the learning ive done , it does not affect me and my work. i work alot with my colleaugues in terms of helping each whenever we need assistance instead of going to supervisors all the time we have created a relationship which makes us willing to help each other understand the policy better. it is however a busy environment as we are always on calls, but with the people i work with we have made the office to be a home to us

Pros: there is a lot of opportunity to grow and add on to your career, explore and experiment

The day begins with report reloading and extracting all the data you need to perform your duties.Making sure you settle and reconcile your process on a daily bases and meeting deadlines. Accuracy is the name of the game, one small error can lead to a big impact and customers(both internal and external) inconvenience or dissatisfaction.

Pros: One of the Big bank in africa and number one in innovation.
Cons: The big number of employees makes it more difficult to be recognised and rewarded

Experience

Love the large company but the salary is not great and the hours are long and demanding. I have very little say in my work and feel like I am.underutilized.

Great opportunity to learn and grow

The company i work for is a very dynamic and safe environment.It has a very open culture were everyone lends a hand to assist one another. With constant update of our Leader and the direction the company is headed.

I strongly believe that I am the tool required to perform the job advertised due to that: I am a self motivated individual who wants to get the best out of my life. My motto is not to accept anything less than the best. I am a very humble person and a loyal employee, I am capable of adjusting myself to working with different kinds of people, let it be in a team or individual. I take pride in the work I do, I have passion to strive and do more than what is expected of me, and in short I would say I am a hard worker. I am Broad minded ready to discover new areas and ideas in all given fundamentals because I am prepared to learn. Iam willing to learn anything, iam a go getter and do not let cercumstances let me down.

I enjoy working with clients, or my fellow workers, i believe in great team work . In a normal day, iam required to talk with vlients, and i have learnt that a client can be anyone, even your collegue , and one shouldnt treat them diffent but they all special and important. I have learnt that with a please and thank you one can archieve many this ,irrispevtive of their possitions in the company.

Pros: i got to meet with a lot of people, i learnt the importance of team work.
Cons: There is alot of processes involved before client gets feedback

Global knowledge

The team +- 160 staff. We assist the call centre with queries, & the data capturers with errors & 29 Africa/UK countries. We support about 4/5 countries each. When one of the team members is on vacation leave or off ill we run with his/her work overtime, leave, hires, Exits, benefits. We support the countries with capturing if they do not know how to capture. We work close and support eachother. When someone new is appointed they will fly them to Johannesburg and provide training of payroll function. We have a dummy system where we do testing to see if the new inputs in the system we work with is correct and will not error on our live system and you do the full function from capturing, run payroll & send info to Finance, all new implementations on the new systems from all countries according to their requirements and legislation. Work closely with the developers of the system & a 3rd party company. Good relationship with developers. I enjoy learning how other countries operate & all their benefits.

Pros: Global knowledge of payroll / very well rounded consultant
Cons: salary bench marking is a tidious exercise/growth potential limited

Excellent learning curve

I work with a group of amazing colleagues, they make being at work an enjoyable and beautiful experience. I learn a whole lot everyday, about the company and mostly about myself and patience as I deal with customers on a daily. I have so far worked at Enquiries department and Teller department and ATM custodian. I'm looking forward to going to Bureau de change. Challenges I face at work is mostly dealing with difficult customers, and perhaps learning new systems as changes are introduced. Otherwise I love challenges as they bring about excitement.
