Learning challenges

I am responsible for a team of 13 service consultants and we work well together. We face day to day challenges such aas client complaints but we always deal with them accordingly.

Excellent learning curve

Sales / Service Consultant February 2017 – Present • Consulting with clients, gathering and capturing of information • Deposit taking and transactions • New client take on procedures and assisting clients with general banking related queries. • Opening savings accounts • Telemarketing, gathering of new potential leads • Credit granting and issuing of personal loans and credit cards.

Great learning opportunities acquired

Having working at Capitec Bank has blossomed a strong sales person and a great leader, that is assertive and never compromises his value. Day to day operations of the branch is top priority on my list and also mentoring and coaching of staff members. Having an experience in sitting in interviews and finding the best suitable candidate for a position has also been an excellent experience for me.

Excellent learning curve

Improves your negotiation skills and gives you the opportunity to grow in the company, give you the opportunity to study further and improve the standard of living, the environment was more like you with family than being at work, always happy and enjoyable to be at the workplace, always willing to work overtime on weekends, there only issue I had was long working hours

Managed a branch effectively for 7 years achieving set targets

Through my years with Capitec I have achieved set targets and qualified for team awards consistently based on growth and performance of the branch. I have learned how to manage people to get the full potential out of them and therefore ensuring targets are achieved

Empowering learning

The experiece was quite a very empowering experience,because we had to learn to take ownership and be able to do things on your own without depending on anyone else,that has made me to learn my weaknesses and strengths.it has also taught me that anything is possible as long as you are willing to learn.

Honest review

good entry level job, growth is possible but not financially rewarding, very small or no salary increase if you promoted. job does not provide you with any skills except customer service so don't expect to learn much, u will only be able to work in capitec with the knowledge you gain. Bursaries are very difficult to get. If you have no experience or qualifications then this is a great opportunity for you.

Pros: the job is pretty easy to do.
Cons: poor provident fund, R400 medical cont, very low management salaries.

Monthly credit learning.

1. Client Service Champ (4 Months’ probation) Greet walk-in clients Ensures client have the correct documentation Issue a service ticket Ensures the smooth running of the branch Ensures that every team member is working when supposed to 2. Service Consultant (current position) Opening accounts Granting Credit Performing transaction (internal and external) Doing weekly telemarketing (based on leads) Taking deposits, including cheques Solving minor complaints and escalate major ones. Doing Office work (filing contracts)

Pros: Slim chances for promotion, depends who you know
Cons: Very long with less resting time
