It's was amazing working for the city I was contract based. Unfortunately it has come to an end so I'm now looking for more permanent and stable work. I loved working for the city as training was always provided. Skill were implemented and studies was also awarded to staff. I will miss working for the city and made alot of professional relationships and met pew

I am a hard worker with good qualities and good skills
I enjoyed working at City of Cape town alot because I was assisting clients with their housing needs, I was busy all the time especially with their housing needs, I had a great relationship with my co-workers I loved them alot because they were always there for me all the time, I have learnt alot from that department how to speak with people,the way to greet and give response to clients, I have learnt that working with people you must learn to listen and understand.

I work for the Citynof Cape Town
I have been working in the City of Cape in the transport division for almost a year . I have been appointed as clerk when I began and withing three months I was appointed as a system controller for the my Citi Centre . Typical day at work would be communication with bus drivers about routes and being on schedule , sending out emails , creating reports .the relationship with my co workers we always professional but helpful to learn and create new ways of working with the system . Most challenging aspect is not having the right equipment to update the system or get hold of buses . What I enjoy the most is learning something new everyday about the system and getting to know my colleagues better so there the understanding of how each one works.

I have learnt so much from my previous work, I learn to be patient, iv learnt to be hkind, helfful and most important iv learnt that customers are always right, yes there were challenges because at times you get differe difficult customers.

Excellent learning curve
Itits a good learning curve for dtart ups , and mainly forhard wokersi have learned a lot of team work, ja its a great place for one to growwith its mixed races you get the chance to learn abot other cultures and other peoples beliefs so that you can respect each other

Good place to work
I decided to comeback after my contract was finished to explore the knowledge I had acquired and develop my city where I was born,I really did learned a lot on site and out of site.

So much good experience to gain
I worked at Eskom as a radiation protection trainee for the past 2 years. I used to do the daily plant routines and job covers when people had to work. I had a really good relationship with my colleagues I never had any problem with them. I’m by trade a qualified Electrician with a red seal certificate and a qualified radiation protection monitor.
Pros: There’s so much good things to learn

Security
Good employer with good benefits and job security. Excellent benefits. Good service delivery. The city of cape town always look for ways to improve client services. The organisation benefits are too flexible and allows employees to manipulate the system. These policies are often to the detriment of the staff eg. Extensive sick leave. Management are also non challenging and do not know company policies and are afraid to enforce policies. This costs the rate payers
