Excellent learning experience
I have National Diploma and Btech in Human Resource Management from the Central university of technology and N.Dip Safety Management from Unisa and I'm currently doing Btech Project management from Central University of technology. I have experience in records office which filling and saving keeping of documents. Recruitment officer which includes recruitment of new employees and training staff. Pmds officer which includes assessing performance of employees and Moderation. Safety Representatives includes safe keeping of employees and community. I enjoy to work fellow employees. I have learned a lot and gained experience in the Department. I really enjoy doing Safety inspections

Self motivated
Am self motivated and I am willing to learn more about logistics. Am a hard worker I can work under pressure. I have knowledge in public sector procurement policy as well as asset management. I am known for my strong ethic, good communication skills, energy and organising skills.

Excellent
Reviewing outstanding transactions of the previous day progress made on deliveries. Ensure that warehouses have optimum stock levels. Check with procurement if Qoutations for replanishing stock levels are attended to. Approve Qoutations for cases below R 30 000.00 Resolve disputes if any between supply chain, suppliers and end- users. Check on budget utilization. Ensure adherence to policy governing SCm. Ensure that Asset Management internal controls are complied to.
Pros: Great opportunity for growth, learning to coordinate,control and decision making to different scenarios

Balanced manager
Government is a sector dependent on busget appropriation and therefore is not profit motivated. This has a tendancy to give people a thinking that even if they can do as little as they can their salaries are tight to the posts and not volume of production. This is different in the private sector where it is important to focus on the quality of production as well as time.
Pros: Implement acquired skills into a different sector
Cons: long working hours inhibits work-life balance

Its a good learning curve to work at Department of Correctional Services ,the environment is huge,and working with different users and teams every day .No typical day at DCS, every day is different ,depending on the User's request and your planning for that day .We have a very good working relationship with my co-workers and we promote team work so that we can learn from each other .The most challenging aspect is when the User have an issue and they do not know how to define it because they do not understand the system and the other challenge is when there is Network problem .

Not ideal environment for learning and development
1. The work is mostly adhoc and not planned.. 2. Work relationships with colleagues is good. 3. There is no knowledge management in place. All the organisational information is sitting in individuals computers.
