Different experience

I have learnt about customer care, the urgency of matters specially when dealing with the public. I have learnt to respect authority work.with minimal supervision and solve problems.Working for a government institution has its challenges such as employees are often painted with the same brush. I have learnt to continue with work go.beyond the call of duty and learn everything there is to know

Pros: Job security

Well experienced and willing to learn new things

Advertising, selection and recruitment. Worked as a team especially in projects such as verifications of qualifications etc. I've learned that I should prioritize my work and treat client well and apply the Batho Lele Principle. The area which I really enjoyed was the consultation with clients and attending to all kinds of related queries. The most challenging aspects in my job was submission of monthly/ quarterly reports, this was caused by late and non submission from the institutions and other managers and I ended up making efforts by going extra miles , travelling in order to get them

Pros: I can manage to run the section by myself since I I'm well trained and I've acquired more skills including leadership and management skills.
Cons: Due to the large size of the Department, I was expected to work overtime at some stage in order to meet the deadlines.

Great learning curve

Great department to work for. There is personal growth and lots of opportunities. Everyone is professional especially our CEO, she knows each and everyone of us by name. My boss hardly recognize great work but always ready to give warnings should there be complaints, that is very discouraging but I always keep my cool. It is challenging when you as a Technician introduce change to end users (new software) and it gives problems along the way. They tend to lose trust in you and it's not easy to regain it. I enjoy learning different technical aspects and working face to face with different people, from a cleaner to executive members and clinicians.

Pros: You get a Persal Number which you keep for life and makes it easy to get employment in the Government Sector.
Cons: You get calls even after work on your cellphone to assist with technical matters.

Excellent Learning Curve

I learnt communication skills because is high in my work place The more you communicate is the more you enjoy to be in the work. although some workers got emotions you need to tell your self that this is work and you need to respect it and understand human being. I experienced a lot as I am in-service trainee.

Pros: great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Overworking without getting any leave because of in-service trainee

IT IS nice working at government organisation

Working in government organisation it is nice you learn more different things i enjoy it but working without a pay it is not nice relationship with co workers we flow in a right communication level sometimes we have that conflict because it isnormal sometimes to have arguments but in a right way and know how to handle it in correct manner, we work 8 hours a day, also what i have learnt at stores is issueng of stock physical&manual, make deliveries, receiving of stock munual &physical, capture anything that we have or what we are ordering, preparing orders, answering of telephones, intenda and what im enjoy the most is when they delegate more task thast sometimes needs my decisions or thoughts, problem solving the challeging aspects of this job its when you are careless of anything sometimes you can loose your job cause when preparing an order and you put it anywhere that you may not remember at get lost they can charge you for that. thank you

Pros: yes there can be a great opportunity because they have trained you they know you well what you are capable of.
Cons: 8hours a day
