Wonderful learning experience
i had a wi had a wonderful time working at eskom ,some time i ll work long hours some times short hours.ti had a good relationship with my team.i have learn to learstev and to understandwhen people are are bringing challanges aat the work place.i enjyedwhen we get the positive result after working very hard the most challanging aspects is to work with people who does not want to learn

Security
The environment is great to work at, the colleagues are very. There are lots of learning opportunities. There is so much openness in the environment, all the way from managers to the cleaners, there are no boundaries except for proffesionalism displayed. The friendship is kept during the office hours, and even after working hours, it's the kind of people you easily ask them to collect your kids from school if you are not around. I would really like to still get a fresh environment like that if I ever have to leavegration
Pros: Friendliness of all employees, no discrimination. Environment is great for learning and each day brings new excitements
Cons: Company is currently not doing well, thus hindering growth. People are leaving for greener pastures and their spaces are not filled, thereby increasing workload to those left behind

Excellent learning curve
I am a great person with a great personality, I fit well in a group due to my skills of being a wonderful team worker. Every two months I worked with different teams so that I can gain experience in all the departments at Eskom. In the first department I’ve learnt how to do maintenance for HV equipment at their substations, on my second department I’ve how to track data of the network using SCADA and powerfactory softwares, on the third department I learnt on how to install, and maintain distribution boards, we also dealt with power loss and help fix it on my last department I’ve learnt about the protection of the network, I installed correct settings, testing and maintenance on the relays and circuit breakers. I enjoyed working at Protection it gave sense because every person affected by the Eskom network is a victim of dying should they not follow the rules on how to use .
Pros: Great opportunity to learn about the electrical Engineering in all aspects.
Cons: Dangerous to work with.

Excellent learning opportunity
My Name is Hlengiwe Moyo, and I am a Software Test Analyst by profession. I have been within the testing field for the past 5 years to date and I specialize in functional testing, my acquired skills are mainly within functional testing and am currently pursuing skills within the technical automation testing. I possess skills in using HP Quality Center (QC) testing tools, Unified functional testing (UFT) and in Basic Sequential Query Language (SQL). I am certified in ISTQB Foundation testing, attained HP ALM training, as well as Basic SQL training. I am a very assertive, articulated person and enjoy venturing into different endeavors more especially within the field of testing, testing all kinds of different applications/systems sustains my enthusiasm to pursue more and greater. My edge comes from working with different people from different cultures and background, and getting to discover different kinds of technologies and how business and technology has emerged vastly across organizations.

Quick growth within the company.
Problem-solving proficiency Interpersonal and Communication skills Initiative and motivational skills During my studies as well as my experiential learning I have done up till now, I have learnt/acquired many skills that enable me to be able to handle any challenge or task that is assigned to me. I have learned to plan and execute ideas/ projects within a specified period as well as to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. By heading various projects my leadership skills have been honed/ enhanced so as to effectively execute tasks, delegate responsibilities, liaise with all stakeholders, and to apply resources in a responsible fashion.
Pros: growth and development is applicable.

Good organization with eperienced engineers
it is interesting i work with different discipline of engineering, i am based in process engineering department , my role is to do everything that need process engineering on a certain unit, to improve efficiency , investigate problems and also give advice where i can. from last year until now i had an experienced mentor who helped me to grow and improve my skills , the company also contribute to my growth as they take me to courses that improved my skills as an engineer

My personal experience at Eskom
It has been great working for Eskom. I have made a few good friendships over the years, and get along well with my boss and colleagues. I have learned a lot about the electrical network and its challenges. There was a time when I had just started and worked standbys, that was a challenging but yet exciting time of my working life as I learned a lot in the process. Eskom is a company that takes good care of its employees. They are also quite fair when it comes to taking leave and attending to family issues. They promote working safely and being ethical at all times. Presently, the most challenging part is not being able to work to my full potential, hence looking for something different.

Cons: Not working to full potential and less promotion opportunity
