Excellent learning environment
The company is good and gave me the good learning curve because i can work independently,i can run the event alone, handle visitors on my own etc. I had excellent relationship with my co-workers we were very close and worked good together. The most challenging aspect was to get my boss understanding my job and the needs of my job because he was always saying no to even the little things i ask for such as promotional items when going for exhibition.
Pros: great company to grow
Cons: working unpaid overtime

Excellent learning curve
Work on an oil rig. Before you can take the helicopter you’re given basic offshore survival and emergency training. When you fly you wear at least two layers of clothing, then you put on a life jacket. Everything points to disaster but you’re just trying to get to work! After a while, though, it’s as routine as catching a bus. You have to be able to get on with people because you’re spending half your life with people other than your normal partner. I spent more time with my room-mate than my partner. You need be able to mix it with folk, to know the strengths and weaknesses off your colleagues. Conflict must be avoided in such confined spaces. I have learnt the following skill from different industries Offshore Installation Experience Oil and Gas Production Well Surface Production Well Testing Well Head Connection Optimization Job Safety Analysis / Hazard / Safety Procedure Staff Management Procurements
Pros: Great job opportnity
Cons: Long working hours

I love my job and can be very challenging at times, but one need to be open to challenges at all times.

Extensive experience in Project Management
I have been exposed to additional responsibilities and have been able to equip myself with additional skills to operate effectively. I acquired skills to be decisive, innovative and to use initiative. As a project manager, I have extensive experience and a fair understanding of working with diverse people and the cascading of administrative tasks. I attended various workshops to stay abreast within my job. My working exposure and on-the-job training has equipped me and enhanced me as a Project Manager to be able to manage teams of different disciplines in order to collectively deliver the project within specified budget, time and quality. I would bring a focus on quality, loyalty and commitment. Furthermore, I am a quick learner, I work well with others. I believe that with my personality, passion background and work ethic I can be of great benefit to this department and company. I am confident that I will be able to contribute successfully to this position.

Technical Growth
My day starts with a meeting at 06:30 where previous day's work progress is discussed. Then work plan for the day is also discussed. My preparation for next day's work begins at 13h00 by writing work permits from notifications raised by production personnel, routines from the planner or defects raised by myself from my daily inspections. Before I start working on any equipment, I first do daily inspections on critical equipment such as chillers, air-conditioning, freezer rooms and cold rooms. Then I fill in the daily logbook of that equipment. At 16:00 I give a daily report to the engineer about the status of tasks for the day. Then work continues till 18:30. Thats what typically goes on for two weeks in a month and the other two weeks I'm off duty.
Pros: Job security since it is a State firm. There is more to learn still especially in electrical.
Cons: Two weeks at sea is strenuous and impacts negatively on family life.
