HR and payroll experience

Starts off with a morning meeting in order to be updated with business processes, business highlights, to get understanding of work load. Each day normally very busy, priority of tasks changes throughout the day. Lots of payroll queiries to deal with and need to pay attention to each one. Enjoy working with my team, we laugh, we work and just able to pull together when the pressure is on. I have learnt to be focused, to be attentive, dealing with pressure, and to deal with change. I enjoy assisting our customers and transactional side of payroll system and processes. Meeting deadlines and getting employees paid on time and accurately is the most challenging part of the job.

Pros: Moved from HR administrator to payroll administrator in 8 months
Cons: have to work extra hours and highly pressurised.

My Review

arrive before 8, get comfortable, make sure all my staff at work, log into my pc, open various systems to monitor agents, open spread sheet to ensure all sales for previouday is captured, ensure that all staff are getting calls great my fellow colleuges. then drive the sales team to achieve target. the thing ive learnt is be on top of your agents that way they cant BS you with anything plus ive been in call centres for a long time and am able to see any if not all funny things that agents think they get away with. the most challenging aspect of my job is for me i guess, developing people here, its slow and non supportive in a sense that if i want to send my agent who i think will make a good customer service agent to training for customer services then its a whole process and alot of red tape holding you back to help that person grow.

Good company to work for

Typical day includes interacting alot with customers, offering them service , packing and displaying merchandise. Relationship with co-workers is great as you get to enjoy talking , working as a team , assisting one another wether personal issues or work related issues . In the company I have learned alot in how to sell products , how to interact with customers .acquired many skills like communication , organisational, planning , presenting skills etc. I enjoy talking to customers and being able to help them purchase products that change/enhance their lives. I enjoy the motivational and encouraging words our manager says to us . I do not really find any challenges because each an every obstacle I face it and overcome it .challenges are were I generally grow in my Job. •opening new accounts •reaching targets •complaints

Pros: You get paid on time, great working inviroments
Cons: Work more than your normal time..be called to work when supposed to be off

Include things like: - A typical work day Induction of new staff existing staff training compiling completed training reports liaise with business partners - Your relationship with co-workers work in a team of 5 HR training consultants , young dynamic, vibrant and super supportive structure -Manager young, open and gives direct and constructive feedback -supportive of development - The most challenging aspects of the job New induction training week after week for contact centre staff

Pros: Group is big allows for grwoth in various departments
Cons: staff retention low, constantly training new starters, less challenging in job ( same every week)

Excellent learning but no growth

The Engineering Department analyses that i worked in, optimises and implements solutions to the challenges faced by TFG Logistics and the greater TFG supply chain. They achieve this by applying their expert knowledge in specific disciplines which include; •​Business Analysis •Electrical Engineering •Facilities and Materials Handling Layouts •Industrial Engineering •Lean Six Sigma •Mechanical Engineering •Mechatronics Engineering •Process Analysis •Project Management The Engineering team is also entrusted with keeping up to date with latest technology that can be applied to the TFG Logistics environment to improve efficiency

Pros: Great opportunity for show casing my experiences and running projects
Cons: when someone is not in stand by in all 7 dc's alone and they are far apart

Daily duties of DC Controller

Currently I manage a fleet of 8 vehicles with drivers and assistants. I manage the daily deliveries of the vehicles. Liaise with customers and stores if queries occurr. Manage the maintenance of all vehicles. ensure that all paper work correspond with deliveries of each driver. Checking with drivers on a weekly basis the maintenance of their vehicles. Tracking of vehicles. Manage the inventory of the Delivery Service Area.

Pros: I am in this position for 5 years and it does not look like I will be promoted any time soon. I am looking for a working environment where I can grow.
Cons: I am always willing to work Long hours to get the job done.

Excellent people's skills

My work day is the stores admin,assisting customers.My relationship with co workers is great I like working with different people.There is always a time and place for things.I have learnt many different things from management and staff,we always learn everyday.I have learnt and grown to be a leader.I enjoy everything about my work including the challenges we face everyday,as I take something I'm not happy about and make it look exciting for me and others.Working in retail everything can be challenging but dealing with upset customers can been challenging but customer is king and I do my best to make sure she or he leaves with a smile

Great environment for growth

The company provides a good environment for one to be able to grow. There are a lot of challenges that are designed for one to be able to stretch yourself. The team i work with is very cooperative and that allows me to be a great leader to them.

Learning curve

This was my real first time job and I have learned so much within these 2 years. Working with different people from all over South Africa over the phone and dealing with difficult customers and all really prepared me for the business field of work. Even being supervised by different people and selling different products on the floor helped me a lot with regards to being flexible in a work environment.

Pros: I had great time at tfg
Cons: Having to deal with difficult customers
