EXCELLENT LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Working for Woolworths gave me great knowledge around importance of customer services , financial services , as well as great leadership skills and good relationship with fellow employees. I have gained a lot of knowledge from this company around retail experience. I enjoyed interacting with different types of people and creating a friendly environment for both staff and customers. I also enjoyed the challenges I faced daily mostly difficult customers with different scenarios, this helped me gain knowledge about different challenges within the retail industry,

Have learned to work with dufferent people and it has encouraged me to grow.

My typical day at work is when theres no customers in the middle of the month everything is slow. I have a good relationship with my colleges we respect each other, we inform each other when we are not going to be on the sales floor for sometime. I have learned not to bring my personal things at work and learned from doing IBT requests, to check for items if other stores for customers to knowing that the customer is always right and to dealing with their complaints and learned to always give the customers the platform to voice their complaints and not fighting with the customers. The challenging aspects are when the shop is full anything can happen from stock being stolen or customers purses are stolen and closing late when we have massive sales.

Excellent learning and development

Excellent learning, good in training its employees,good values, excellent employees relations. Good working environment, good HR structure. Top management very supportive. Working hours allows me to spend time with my family hence I work one weekend per month. I have learnt how to appreciate the contribution made by my team and the company staff on training and development. Woolworths has a lot of administrative work, this is a challenge but workable.

Cons: A style of management by line manager yet the company believe in B style

Till operator, parking,

Woolworths is a very good company I enjoy especially the people I work with. We help each other where one of us don't understand,give advises to each other work or personal if you need one. I've learnt that working with people you have to be friendly,patient and understanding. I enjoy meeting different people everyday and making unforgettable memories with the customers. Learning to know all the stock in case the customer ask for something you have to know what it is and where it stays.

Pros: Promotions they go step by step from till operator to pay point controller, team leader,line manager then manager

Good training programs

The environment was not good the shop was too cold because it was a foods store .my relationship with my co-workers was excellent i believe in team work and respect, what I have learnt from my previous work is customer service and live by the values and one was integrity. The most challenging aspects was to work under a lot of pressure with out assistance in the foor meaning without managers helping out with the long queues and assisting with elderly customers

Heart of selling

Working hours is 40 hours per week which is 8 hours per day must be able to work as a team and be flexible , meaning if others are struggling in their department you should assistant them even when the are long queues you should go and assist at the till points not looking at you job description because we are all the to give customer service. As a team you should learn about other departments or only yours. In that case to will get to know each other And learn how to engage with your colleagues and there's also training s that employees attend regarding ourselves as employees and also customers. You also learn how to love each other before customer because if we don't how are going to know that we met customer certifications.

Good working environment

I'm happy with Woolworths but now I need something new that will challenge me and willing to learn new things and skills. I'm very loyal person and dedicated person. I'm a receiving clerk at detail check department, check if the stock has discrepancies or not while we receiving local supplies. I've learned that communication and commitment is much important when you're dealing with stock from suppliers.
