Great salary, company benefits and retirement.
The company is great but our superiors were gready and treated us bad. They didn't carr more about your health or how you feel. The team leaders make the company looks bad, if they don't like you or feel intimated by you it's a problem

Good exposure
The work days are long. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. IThe individuals are always willing to help with transferring knowledge. I have enjoyed working with the people that I have worked with. The most difficult thing is moving around the bank once you have found yourself in a particular department.

It's a good company to work at.
Its a great place to work at. The only issue is sometimes they don't like it if you want to study something outside of Banking yet they retrench every 2 years.

Excellent learning curve
Fast paced , learn a.lot within a short period of time. Workload is a bit much causing one to take work home and sometimes work on weekends just to try and catch up and stay up to date.

Excellent learning opportunities
I completely love my job. If there was a job available at Absa for me I would stay. Every day I am busy with alot of different elements. It is never the same, all depending on what comes in. I have learnt alot within my Roles at Absa. All included in my CV. What I love most about my job within Absa, is that I am every day challenged. I learn lots every single day.

Cons: to much working in Silo's no one knows what the other is doing.

Reporting
I left the employ of Absa. During my stint at Absa I was involved with the financial and regulatory reporting which are two different careers altogether but to understand the regulatory world it becomes so easy with accounting background more so for me as I was reporting on the numbers that IExcellent performer throughout my tenure in Financial Control. I have achieved smooth and successful year end closures and timeous Reporting with accuracy have more knowledge of.
Pros: Working with various people from different divisions

Tough Skin
I am a contract worker employed viaa recruitment agency. ABSA is currently not renewing any of the contract employees contracts. The recruitment agency does not find us other jobs and does not respond to any follow up emails. ABSA does not want to even afford the current contract workers opportunities to work in other business areas. Working at ABSA really opened my eyes and gave me tough skin. We have to work on public holidays without notice including Voting Day despite the fact that our contracts are not being renewed.
Pros: None
Cons: Long hours, no perks, no benefits, have to work on public holidays without notice including Voting Day.
