Good listener, always ready to try new things,

Industrial mechanics (millwrights) scan and locate data on labels, lists, tables and schedules. They may interpret graphs when monitoring equipment operation. They interpret or review schematics and engineered drawings of systems (pneumatic, mechanical, structural and hydraulic) to identify malfunctions. Industrial mechanics (millwrights) may also retrieve and study data from scale drawings to identify location of equipment to be installed and verify location. They also complete forms such as purchase orders, maintenance forms, logbooks and work orders

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: Long working hours

Excellent learning curve with a whole lot of experience gained.

On a day to day, I did plant maintenance, installations of new components and a lot of bearing work, frok work roll bearings to back-up chocks, servicing of bearings and installing bearing on rolls and back up rolls. Great team work with colleagues, communication very crutial as we worked in a very loud place so we always have to account for everyone’s movements. I enjoyed learning most of the work there and I learned a lot more on solving conflict between colleagues to get the job at hand done without letting the conflict affect the job at hand.

Pros: Plenty of experience gained to allow you to work anywhere in the world.
Cons: Long working hours and straneous to the body
