Excellent learning curve
I have been in my current position +- 14 months, something I have never been exposed to and I find it very interesting and enjoyable. a typical day at work include compiling reports if I am not attending trustee meetings or processing claims. I am also responsible for investigating death claims, in particular collating all the documentation and requesting documents that is outstanding. the most challenging aspect of my job is getting used to the admin system. I get along well with my colleagues.
Pros: Great career developement / personal growth

Continuous changing environment
MMI Holdings is still in the midst of a lot of change that stems from the merger in 2010. However, change is always a good thing, when one's attitude is positive.

Customer orientated. Stats driven
Typical work day would be to accepts tasks in our que and to action within an hour. This is stats driven and impacts on my performance. Ive started in an automated environment of access management, but is now adapting to working "manual"/ technically to accommodate the existing system. I enjoy working with clients and have learn new methods that are "behind the scenes".

I have learnt about teamwork,individual responsibility and accountability.
My day starts off with checking if the claims department has enough work to do and provide them with correctly indexed claims, I then do the same for our membership and correspondence departments. Scanning indexing of claims and correspondence forms a big part of function however I am involved with updating members' banking details when there are refunds due to them after they have left the scheme. Checking the status of claims and deciding which arm of claims to send to is what interests me most about my functions as well finding new ways to do things.

I do the following work: Shortlisting candidates applying for vacancies • Conducting telephonic screening interviews • Scheduling and setting up of interviews and booking venues • Liaising with the compensation department in bench-marking the position advertised • Setting up and booking Assessments for candidates in the recruitment process • Conducting reference checks • Induction coordination ensuring that new starters attend induction on first day of work
