Excellent networking place
It's a good place for networking,I have a very good relationship working with my co-workers and my managers,but I do enjoy even if am working as an individual,I have learnt many things respect,keeping a clean and safe environment for customers most of all learning the SAP system using a pc was quite interesting,and the most challenging aspects about a retail company is maintaining merchandise,because there's lot of theft we have too look for merchandise and make sure if it is still in order or we short of stock.

Good experience for me and room for progress
I enjoy my job in the morning I start with test scanning at cashiers Desk to make sure all labels correspond with the prices for the new day, do my physical inventory counts given by head office randomly each day. Do price change put up New labels for products that have New prices. I work with all departments do admin work for them and I get along with everybody because I work with all departments. Later on the day I reduce prices for things that have close sell by date or expiry date then check for missing labels and signage put that up my job is done for the day
Pros: great with someone who knows what customers want and expect from a shop
Cons: hours are long sometimes u get so busy u don't get full hour lunch

Hardworking ;enjoy work in a team and fast learner
Its good to work in PNP even through the jobs is challenging and it graves us opportunities to apply for diferent positions ;it teaches you to respect ;accommodate people with different attires.I have learned to accommodation pressure and have understanding with my shifts mostly it came me experience in different departments.

Excellent learning curbe
The job that I do it was not easy at first until I realised that I actually want to build a career in retail. My working life experiences has only been in retail. The part I enjoy the most is having to interact with different people from different backgrounds and different journeys of life. I took my work place as my second home as i usually spend half of my day at work . learn to work as a team,having to become patient, be able to come up with suggestions and having that family that will understand your pain no matter what. The most challenging part is dealing with difficult customers, but I've learnt to be e more understanding and patient.

Overworked
Tiring to say the least with long working hours. Overworked and under paid. I get along with all my co-workers. Management is the worse. I don't enjoy my job at all, who does.

Excellent staff development
10 hours shift, great working relationship with co-workers, constantly learning new ways of doing things. I love building relationships especially with suppliers.

A typical day at work
I mostly have to work on the floor and merchandise, make sales and ring up customers purchased items. Most of the time I would assist the manager or assistant manager with administrative duties if they are uncertain because I have more knowledge.

I have learnt how to treat customers in a right way(customer service)
I'm a very hard working person, patient, trustworthy, well groomed, respectful, easy to work with and self motivated, I know how to handle the customers with respect as I have learnt customer service.
Pros: Im willing to start over a new interesting carreer like this, working in an industry where I can face and help clients with love and patience by myself
Cons: I have a strength when it comes to work, I can strive to work long hours in order to reach a target if that has started as long as that will be a benefit to the company, because a benefit to the company is a benefit to me also (e.g if you don't give strength and work properly in a company become insolvient of which the job for you will also come to an end)

Excelent learning curve
working on urgent issues while attending to customers, close relationship so issues are ironed out quicker, I have learnt disciplinary procedures and hearings, the day to day unpredictability, making the most of the time you have in a day at work

Working at pick n pay has tought me a lot about retail.
I have had a great time working for pick n pay as I get the chance to interact with a lot of people on a daily basis. I also deal with different suppliers who have multiple queries and it give me great pleasure to help them and resolve those queries quickly and painlessly.
Pros: office hours
Cons: limited growth in the department
