My Trade test

Responsibilities: • High voltage and low voltage experience including experience in operating and maintain high voltage equipment’s. • Maintenance of high voltage breakers, Oil and Vacuum breakers. • Experience in Soft starters and AC drives. • Setting and repairing actuators. • Maintenance in high voltage breakers. • High voltage and low voltage breakers. • Knowledge in motor starters and protection relays. • Maintenance of standby generators. • Cable testing and cable jointing. • Maintenance of battery charger and UP’s. • Power factors and correction units. • House installation and fixing all portable appliances. • Fixing pedestal and portable drills. • Maintenance in chlorine pumps. • 88KV switching and connecting surge arresters.

The relationship that i have with my co-workers the way people are so friendly among each other. The culture with in the whole organisation is very welcoming. i have learned lots of things being in this company but i feel like I've over staid i believe its time for a change.

Rand Water is the largest water board in Africa

The current employer is very professional and there is room of career growth. However, I need a permanent job because i don't get benefits like permanent employees (medical aid,Provident fund and bonuses)

Pros: Opportunity for promotion is very limited because i am on contract
Cons: I am day shift employee and the working hours are reasonable

Best employer so far

Rand Water has offered me growth opportunities, allowing me exposure to very high level stakeholders. I have had direct interaction with all levels of management. It is a very structured environment, with very limited opportunities for growth even when has shown to excel at their tasks due to the regulated recruitment environment and promotion policies.

Excellent learning opportunity

I worked on a contract bases on a Rand Water project in Johannesburg.my job description is a health and Safety Officer.i have learnt a lot about safety in the time that I was there .i am currently looking for looking for a job in health and Safety The project that I was on was very challenging as there were different tasks everyday.
