Excellent leaning curve

I first work at ARA as sales consultant ,then department closed down.I then work at comprehensive care group as a sales rep,the Company closed down.I then work for Real people(DMC) as a tracer and have been driving a company car over six years,duties i to drive around all your clients and do payment arrangements with them so they can pay their accounts.now I'm at sanlam doing sales and marketing funeral plan and investments and savings.I've always have a good relationship with my colleagues.I have learned a lot of skills and to treat a client with respect.I enjoy the working under pressure.the most challenging aspect of job is where by no basis salary only commission basis.and at the present time of my life I need work with the basic salary.I would rather do the commission work during my spare time and weekends

A day in my life

I work as self employed. I train at Companies like Sanlam and found it great as i get ti know new people every day. I have to be acredited by Service andcMict Seta . i train computers at Creative Minds and i love it becausec i have to keep my Microsoft skills up to date. I compile training manuals and use the unit standards to guide me. I work great with the CEO's and managers and they know that im always just a phone call away for guidance. The best if my work is when i do coaching and i can see and feel that i have made a difference.

Pros: I work self employed. This gives me the opportunity to present training at different companies. This has given me the opportunity to learn from different organizations and to have accreditation at more than one SETA.
Cons: I work quite long hours and have to promote myself everytime from the start at each company

No growth opportunities

No growth opportunities even if you qualify yourself in the indutry you will remain in sales. Which is sad as it is demotivating. Nice people and atmosphere but this is a very independent job.

Knowing my sales job

I know that I can make an effective contribution and assist my department to meet its objectives ,and im a hard worker I can also work overtime if told me to to so

Each day is a new opportunity to learn something new, improve on delivering, better service

Work day for me starts by first having a quick interaction with my colleagues over a cup of coffee, just to catch up. Then its up to capturing & processing payments, reconciling the investment account daily, reporting if any to be done, bank recons and monthly General ledger reconciliations. I consider myself to be a team player, always will to assist and help others where needed. I have learnt a lot about pension/provident funds over the years, as I have worked in administration departments as well is in the accounting department. I enjoy working with numbers. Having to assist the senior accountant with his audits from time to time is challenging for me but a new learning experience

Fast and competent learner

I deal with paying outs of pension and provident funds. I communicate with clients on a daily basis, handling queries. we have a team based environment and we have to work well together to make sure that we all meet targets for the month. My communication skills have improvement and i have learnt how to work under pressure. It gives me joy when i have finalized a claim without any hassle. The best part about my job is that you learn something new almost everyday. The challenging aspect includes when Funds are liquidating and one has to explain to clients the process it takes before they can be paid out. It is challenging because these involve sections of the Pension Funds act that most people do not understand and clients start to think that we are just withhold their funds.

Cons: sometimes we have to put in long hours

Great learning experience but growth limitations

Job is challenging and always changing. I interact with all departments as a senior level personal assistanto to both the business manager and the financial planning specia list. I get along well with my colleagues and enjoy the different aspects my job entails but looking for growth.

Hard work and excellent opportunities

I have vast experience in Sales and Marketing. I have more than 10 experience in Sales Industry. Have worked in different companies with excellency. Have met all the stats given to me that needed for month or year. Good proven track record

Building a client base

I worked with different kinds of people and the most important thing to convince people to trust me with their financial needs and make sure that they contact me when they need advice on which financial products they need.It was challenging but beneficial at the same time cause I built trust amongst my clients.

Cons: Anytime of the day and you work very hard to make targets
