Excellent learning curve

I enjoy working with numbers. My day usually starts at 7:30. Every morning I provide feedback on the previous days business issued. Typical day includes invoices, payment approvals, dealing with queries. Other regular tasks include budgeting and providing financial report analysis, resolving management requests, calculations and adjustments of targets and providing training to office staff.

Pros: I enjoy my day to day work
Cons: Not much growth opportunities

Good organization to start in and grow your career in.

Work from 8:00 am to 16:30 weekdays. You meet different and interesting people so you must adjust easily and be open minded as some personalities can be overwhelming. I have learnt to build my interpersonal communication and also tackling challenges as they come. The training program was good, the best facilities are booked for conferences and training, the internship training gives an opportunity for you as an intern to get support from your fellow interns. Challenging aspect is meeting different people with different personalities and expectations and being expected to know everything about the job in a short space of time.

Pros: Opportunity for job advancement
Cons: sitting most of the day

Getting the leads for yourself

A challenging environment, well structured,peaceful/good relationship with its employees, enough time to sort everything for your work everyday and have enjoyed working with them though challenging like getting your own leads and going extra mile to reaching targets also no limits as to how many hours you want to work but the longer the hours pays and get you more work for the next day or a month after.

Pros: yes there is a grate opportunity to grow
Cons: Indeed long working hours in order to reach set targets

Fast and competent learner

I deal with paying outs of pension and provident funds. I communicate with clients on a daily basis, handling queries. we have a team based environment and we have to work well together to make sure that we all meet targets for the month. My communication skills have improvement and i have learnt how to work under pressure. It gives me joy when i have finalized a claim without any hassle. The best part about my job is that you learn something new almost everyday. The challenging aspect includes when Funds are liquidating and one has to explain to clients the process it takes before they can be paid out. It is challenging because these involve sections of the Pension Funds act that most people do not understand and clients start to think that we are just withhold their funds.

Pros: Great environment to work in
Cons: sometimes we have to put in long hours

A day in my life

I work as self employed. I train at Companies like Sanlam and found it great as i get ti know new people every day. I have to be acredited by Service andcMict Seta . i train computers at Creative Minds and i love it becausec i have to keep my Microsoft skills up to date. I compile training manuals and use the unit standards to guide me. I work great with the CEO's and managers and they know that im always just a phone call away for guidance. The best if my work is when i do coaching and i can see and feel that i have made a difference.

Pros: I work self employed. This gives me the opportunity to present training at different companies. This has given me the opportunity to learn from different organizations and to have accreditation at more than one SETA.
Cons: I work quite long hours and have to promote myself everytime from the start at each company

I'm an analytical wizard when it comes to numbers and carrying it over to people. My life revolves around complex problem solving and improving processes to smoothen the workflow and Goals of my employer's needs. I work in conjunction with Sanlam's Product suppliers and frontline staff to ensure clients are helped and needs are fulfilled. I implement new business plans and models internally and externally and so doing play a role in compliance. I don't see problems as a barrier but as a challenge to strategically plan for.Thrive under pressure and deadlines, change is a part of my way of living (adapt or never grow)Managing a small team of people towards a bigger goal is a part of my job that I enjoy the most as teamwork can push over boundaries with the correct attitude and undying will to succeed. I'm looking to expand and share my knowledge with like-minded people and push my self towards new heights.

Pros: Good comparative Salary, learning opportunities, a lot of leadership and mentoring
Cons: structure of compliance, overboard regulations

Great company, great culture, very little room for growth

Fantastic company to work for, however there is virtually no room for growth if not an EE employee. Hours are great, and a large degree of freedom, however it is an extremely lean structure, thus there is very little support and growth.

Pros: Culture
Cons: no room for growth

Good learning curve

I come at work to draft quotes and communicate with brokers, I market Sanlam products to them and explain any uncertainties. I also have a good relationship with coworkers, I have a mentor that has been a great uplifter for me in the workplace. The most challenging thing about the job is the response from brokers or their frustration, it gets overwhelming because they sometimes don't speak well to me. More than anything I have learnt to not take anything personal or put in too much emotions on the kind of treatment I get from external people. I enjoyed the financial teaching, I am now able to determine what is good financially for me.

Pros: great space for learning about financial services
Cons: office politics
