Good organization
The people are great The work is good but tend to be predictable Learnt tax, finance, communication, how to deal with people. I enjoyed knowing that I am contributing to the greater good of our country

Exceptional learning curve at SARS.
I have learned a lot about tax. Enjoyed attending work shops about new tax changes and presenting them to my co-workers. Being the face of SARS it was a good feeling cause I was also responsible for service recovery and attending complex queries on VAT,PAYE,UIF,SDL,INCOME TAX.VDP & TRUST. Making follow up with the auditors,debt management and payments received by SARS. Enjoyed working as a team motivating each other to work hard to satisfy our clients I.e customer orientated and self driven. The challenging aspect is promotion. I learned a lot about tax but I m still at the same level.
Pros: No opportunities for promotion at all
Cons: Normal working hours but I go extra mile to finish my job for the day

There was a lot to learn, I was taken to training courses
The job was very informative, I learned so much about the security industry. I learned about close circuit television, different types of cameras and how interesting the control room environment can be. I was also taken to a basic fire and evacuation course, which helped me become a fire marshal.
Pros: Had a lot of resting days, and enough time to study

Excellent place to gain experience
SARS is an.excellent place to hone ones skills. Itss great to grow in ones career however career progression is limited. There benefits are awesome:medical aid,group life for yourself and dependends and/or kin etc. Study burdaries to further ones career are available. The work enviroment is open, welcoming & warm. The remuniration is decent.

My review
I would like to apply for the position as advertised. I am presently in the employ of SARS Large Business Centre as an Administrator to a team of accountants, data capturers and tax consultants in addition to being executive assistant to the Taxpayer Relationship manager. My job description presently incorporates full administration support to my team and manager, taking of minutes, compilation of financial stream stats to head management once monthly, minute taking and data capturing of tax returns. I liaise directly with taxpayers on a daily basis, and have excellent interpersonal skills combined with the ability to learn very easily and multi-task when need be.

Challenging and very interesting field
To plan and execute Compliance limited scope audits (one tax period / one quarter submission), single risk and single tax type/duty/levy, desk and / field audits on Excise clients identified as possible risk by auditing Excise records, financial documents and manufacturing processes in order to ensure compliance with the relevant legislations and rebate provisions for optimal Revenue Collection, Protection of the society in order to support the Excise mandate

Excellent lerning curve
• Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies. • Establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans through a change management process. • Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle. • Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution. • Schedule and lead all DR exercises. • Provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention. • Represent disaster recovery cost requirements in the annual budgeting process. • Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to upper management. • Act as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes.

Excellent learning curve
With my academic background and experience in South African Revenue Services as the Taxation officer, Auditor and currently as Financial Account being responsible for financial planning, Management Accounting, procurement, supervision of support service staff, I would be able to adapt easily to financial environment. I am capable of working under pressure and eagerness to learn new and more about the challenges of new vacancy. My career objective is to establish myself in a dynamic and exciting environment where my academic background together with my expertise and experience in the fields of accounting, auditing and Finance knowledge will be fully utilized.

Daily interaction with senior management on performance management and planning. I enjoy working with people and driving towards attaining goals set for achievement and sustainability of the organisation. I also enjoy seeking out gaps to establish new initiatives and project to ensure that we keep abreast with best practices. Research is also key in my role to ensure that we maintain standards and align policies and procedures to ensure continuity of business activities.
Pros: I get to form relationships that are valuable and keep me motivated at all times.
Cons: Buy in from Managers, as things evolve and are ever changing.
