Being an industrial engineer in training
The graduate program allows me to rotate to different departments within Sasol to gain a variety of experience for 3 years. After the 3 years I will start specializing within a position in Sasol. I lead my own industrial engineering projects and work under chemical engineers. I do not receive close supervision and have to manage my own project to ensure it satisfies the department's need and the graduate program's competencies, at the end of the rotation period.
Pros: Great salary and 30 day vacation leave
Cons: Not working under an industrial engineer or an expert in a field I also am interested in.

Conflict management
It quiet a challenging environment with high work load but we always manage to meet deadline because we work as a team.challenges are that other employees are not good team players and it interferes with smooth running of processes

Hard working, self motivated, ability to work alone.
Daily inspections, assist with breakdowns, good communication with co-workers, everyday is a learning curve, i enjoy breakdowns, being busy, projects, to prevent trips is challenging and keep the plant running withoyt downtime

Short summary of my day-day activities.
Typical work day: I monitor the plant on a daily basis assisting production with technical inputs. I then work on improvement projects and next steps that has been given to me. I am most of the time on the plant with the production teams as I feel it is my responsibility as the unit engineer. I believe in people relationships as it is the starting point of any successful company (as I see it). I have very good relationships with my peers in general. The list on what I have learnt is very long, but to give an example: there is always room for improvement (even if is has been done they same way over and over), with this study I did the group will save R5 million rand per year. I enjoy working with people and being hands on and off course my technical aspects as well. Most challenging in my current job is is myself - as I always want to improve.
