Excellent learning opportunity

Start out mornings usually by assisting detectives with urgent dockets for court, followed by filling of returning dockets and book's from court and detective services. I also have walk-in clients that I assist legal service with cival claims.Assisting detectives with warrant of arrest dockets. Attend meetings on a weekly or monthly basis depending on the workload. We are only two in the docket store and we had a good working relationship. I would say I had a good relationship with all my colleagues as I worked with numerous people coming through our office daily.I love the fact that I work with people and that I can interact with them and build personal relationships based on our work. The most challenging aspect would be on month ends when all systems close and all dockets needs to returned and filed.I have leant a lot within the 14 yes I have for the department and have worked in various entities within the service.

Pros: Great benefits and meeting new people daily
Cons: Desks jobs tends to get boring at times. Also not getting the support from management at times.

A great place to learn and grow

It is an easy going kind of environment. There are peak periods whereby there will be pressure to submit critical reports and statistics. This happens once a month and once a quarter. I find myself looking for a more challenging work as I have worked in the busiest section within the department. I enjoyed the pressure and always having a great output every day. I currently have a good relationship with my co-workers, there is nothing I can complain about. I have learnt a few things where I am currently working, such as dealing and negotiation with external stakeholders which was not easy for me at first. Profiling and Data Analysis is what I enjoy the most. The challenging aspects of my job is the coordination among external stakeholders. But it is still doable.

Pros: Great platform for learning and gathering experience
Cons: Limited chances for promotion

Being provided an opportunity to attend courses and workshops

I am currently doing investigation duties and receiving an aaverage of 7 [seven) New dockets per week. It becomes a challenge bein the way that the flow of dockets do not allow us to rest even on the weekends we sacrifice our times to push the work without any compensation. it is my wish to change a working environment but still continues with the investigation. I have learned skills of tracing suspects and have been enjoying opposing bails in court

Pros: I am willing to change my working environment and be in a place where the chances of growth without having to be related to someone as it the case in my current work
Cons: I have been working without a rest at most of the time.

Beginner

I'm doing the job that I'm doing because it was what was available when i was jobless. Nevertheless, i consider myself highly qualified for it but it helps me live day to day and pay my daily expenses. It also helped me go back to school and register for the course that i have passion for (IT)

Pros: It's a government job, so we all know what does that mean
Cons: Working hours are not a problem to me at all
