Main duties performed: • Takeoff (Measuring all Quantities relating to the project on site & from drawing) • Conducting measurement checks and re-measuring on site. • Prepare Bill of Quantities accordingly for submission to the client and Contractors • Coordinating material delivery schedules and placing orders relating to each side • Compile Material Wastage Control Schedule • Ensure invoices and delivery notes are processed promptly on a daily basis as received • Construction costing (3 week look ahead) • Valuation (Preparation of payment certificates and all claim certificate • Labour Payments • Pricing of bill of Quantities (CCS) • Pricing VO’s • Pricing Site instruction • Final accounts and project account reconciliation (Negotiating and agreeing final accounts) • Production Rates

Excellent
Its fun and sometimes kinda challanging on a typical day we get to work untill late but i had good co-workers who were a team player. Iv learnt alot especially what happens on the floor iv learnt more about the production and im very active when not busy i go on the floor and see what the guys do there and they always teach me .

Very big company with great challenges
Managing all health and safety related issues. Managing three companies each with its safety officer. Compiling weekly and monthly reports and submit to the client. Compiling weekly and monthly man hours.

Learning new things as a fresh graduate
Its normal just like any other workplace..My relationships with my colleagues is professional,I have learnt a lot of things that groomed both my career as well as a person.I enjoyed having to do what I was hired for and being appreciated. The most challenging aspects with the job is when you have to work under pressure to submit a lot of tenders in the same day but its doable.

I have learned so much about tailling mining,and experience.
my working site is a tough envaroment,but still i enjoy working there with my team,and i work for twelve hours night shifts and day shifts,we do target work per shift,and most challenging aspects is weather,its very dificult to when its raining or windy.i learned how to put together a pipe,how pump station operates,and all other duties related to tailling mining.
Pros: boilermakers,fitters and electricians who look after the pump station

Qualified Red sealed rigger
I am a qualified rigger trained under Murray and Roberts apprenticeship in Medupi power passed my trade in Gijima training center... I am competent and productive...I can even play as a team leader as I am currently playing that part
Pros: I was appointed as a steel erector and currently promoted to a rigger my job is to install steel structures,tanks,pumps,pipes,valves and gantries I work with different lifting tackles and the advantage of knowing how to read a drawing... willing to teach and learn from my colleagues and I can stand any challenge I am facing with teamwork,
Cons: I can work overtime as requested and if the company requests me to work twelve hours per day I am willing to go extra mile to complete the job as asked

Excellent learning curve
I enjoy problem solving because that keeps me learning continuously. As much as I perform during normal working days I also excelled working under pressure. My relationship with core workers is excellent as I have leant to communicate effectively example ; giving feedback to end users even if it the feedback is positive. The challenging aspect of the job is when people do not plan their work, but I had leant to cope and do my level best and go an extra mile to keep the end user happy at all times.

Dealing with clients
Starting my day with energy. Always making the clients happy and giving them what they want. Delivering of all the work that is expected of me with the support of my Quality Assure. I've learned that time management is very important.
