I work as an guest service attendant and ,I deliver a customer service on daily basis it is challenge but not the way I want it to challenge me I have been to their position for 6 years and I see my self managing or less supervising my team at this point in time. that is why I need to move to a company that is going to recognise my effort and service and put me in a sport light but not only for me but for their company as well.

Capacity Building for Organizational Strategy

Working with various functional areas to identify required competencies for driving organizational goals. This leads to the design and development of interventions to capacitate staff to meet organizational performance goals and good working relationships. The biggest challenge is making staff realize that learning is not confined to classroom activities and that they are the most crucial element that contribute to what needs to be learnt, how it should be learnt and establishment of best practice. It most gratifying to see employees take ownership their learning and achieve what has been set in their personal development plans. I have learnt that learning best occurs when individuals know what they need to achieve and how that contributes to the overall objectives of the organization.

Who am I

I'm a goal-orientated achiever who is reliable worker and thrives on responsibility. I work well under pressure, in a deadline- driven environment which I have become accustomed to over my 23-year career in IT. I'm well spoken and confident which allows me to communicate effectively at all levels of business. People regard me as approachable therefore I have the unique ability to communicate a technical solution to the rest of the business without confusing the requirements and vice versa. My proven track record towards service delivery is something I'm proud of and what drives me each day. I view myself as an enthusiastic person with a positive outlook who enjoys working in an integrated team. Learning curve

I do staff training on food safety and basic haccp, conduct internal audits, facilitate external audits. Do daily checks on paper work and cleaning in all the restaurant.

Customer service is what it boils down to as my staff are my clients:-)

I love my job as I am a peoples person. A typical day at the office includes handling a lot of enquiries from staff, with roster and working hours enquiries, to leave balances. Drafting of job confirmations to employee confirmations. As well as disciplinaries/grievances and procedures that follows. I have an open door policy and that works superbly as my staff are comfortable with me, I have a comfortable relationship with all my colleagues, they know with me, what you see is what you get, I believe in Honesty and giving credit where credit is due. I can in all honesty say my staff love me and would choose me above all others as I am very open minded and down to earth. I enjoy the diversity of my role and staff persona's. Challenges come when staff expect favors and wrongs to be overlooked because of an open door policy, but to no avail as policies and procedures overrules all of that and they have been warned.

Pros: If growth was recognised in completed work and staff satisfaction it would be of great help.
Cons: Most times, book knowledge is given preference instead of someone using wisdom and experience of working with people.

I am willing to learn and develop myself in HR career.

I enjoy working for Sun International but there is no growth and development. The salary is not bad compared to the other casinos. I have qualification and I am busy obtaining more that is the reason I want to leave the Casino industry.

Pros: The is no development where I work. I've been doing the same job for almost 12 years no promotions.
Cons: I don't have problem working long hours.

Development and learning

Me and my co- workers work very hard and play hard. I have learned how to lead a team and how to handle our guests. I enjoy working under pressure that is were I'm good at what I do.I have to balance the Casino that is where the challenge is.

Excellent learning curve

I work in a Gaming and Hotel industry. I have a good working relationship with my colleagues, we always jump at the opportunity to assist one another and it comes naturally, as the common goal is to excel in what we do. I have learnt how to communicate better, how to remain calm in tricky situations and maintain control during disputes between the union and the company. I have also learnt how to work well under pressure. what I enjoy the most is giving advice to employees and going an extra mile to assist them whenever they are in need of something. The most challenging aspects of my job is dealing with the union during meetings, often there would be differences in the meetings between management and union resulting in argumentative comments which makes it difficult to draft the minutes thereafter.
