Excellent learning curve

Was great for me to work for the company itself .And looking back I would do anything to get my job back as I'm struggling to find a job again. With all my changes in my life and all my challenges I feel ready to get my job back if opportunity is at hand.

Pros: Good company to work for in terms of growth and financially
Cons: Not very supportive where it concerns ur personal live whereby it might influence ur work.

Technician

Zintle Kalashe has attained N6 in Electrical Engineering Certificate from P.E College. I have acquired skills in the working environment from Vodacom (Internship) and Transnet apprentice program; these are both challenging and dynamic industries. I spent the last three years at Transnet and acquired detailed knowledge as an electrician. The trade objective is to provide sound basic knowledge and practical skills within the specified time (Phase 1 – Phase 3). This has enabled me to function in a group, individually, accurately, safely and reliably in maintaining stations, harbours and workshops installations as well as enabled me to carry out installation work effectively. I have since completed my trade and I am a qualified Electricia. I have also acquired technical skills from both companies and have learnt to work with people thereby cultivating my communication skills as well as my professional image.

Pros: Good for my career
Cons: Working more hours

Excellent learning curve, team work, problem sloving

i loved working in Transnet, we had good working relationship with my co-worker, we used to collect money and eat together sometimes on Fridays, we helped each with work, I've learned that people leave their problems to home and come to work without problems, there's also team work, typical day its when we have to work until late because sudden audits, and also having to take files up and down during audit. we used to get gain share every after three months, i enjoyed both my jobs as a contracts admin and vendor master admin, and they valued my opinion, we used to presents and appreciation.

Pros: contract extended
Cons: during auditing we had to work long hours

Good exposure and development in management

The culture and vision emphasized, as well as safety at all times. Management style is more engaging and allowing creative thinking - allowing self management in terms of tasks and overall ethical behaviour. Goals and objective set discussed - support given in areas where challenges arise. The most challenging aspect is transforming employees to do away with being one dimensional and encouraging flexibility in carrying out various roles (learning and development)

Pros: Exposure to manufacturing projects - Heavy engineering
Cons: Limited growth
