Good learning curve
The is a bit rac|, best opportunity are given to certain people according to theirs skin color not according to their work or a academics t. I have been there for more than 5 years but i am still a part timer that only works 108 hors and only earning 3000.

Excellent Growth Opportunity
- To be able to have great time management skills - To ensure that you have good interpersonal skills - Ensure you pay attention to detail - The relationship i have with my co-workers are exceptionally great as i have good interpersonal skills. I am able to communicate and address others in a professional manner. I am a very helpful individual as well - I began my career in the largest retailer in South Africa, i gained tons of experience to advance my career which is a huge success. -The most challenging aspect of the role is being restricted to a certain area of aspect within the department, therefore being able to grow and challenge yourself out of your responsibilities is a negative.

I have been doing Release Management for the past 12 years and Change Management six years.
Typical work day is to review and analyze all change requests with a view to minimize the risks for deployment. We are a team of 5 workers whereby all changes are investigated in detail to ensure quality governance. We live in a changing environment and in order to ensure that our business is protected at all times. I enjoy working with with my staff and as long as the job gets done. The most challenging part of my job is when things go wrong and in turn learning how to root the problem at it's core.

My current work experience has equipped me with multitude of skills, knowledge and experience including working independently and be creative within the team, time management and ability to identify sales opportunities. My work is all about customer service, handling customer queries, merchandising, implementing promotions, store key duties, alarm testing, driving sales and stock taking What I enjoy most is I play a crucial role in decision-making problem-solving, planning and building healthy relationship with customers. Overall I have leant to look at things differently and in a positive way.

Excellent learning experience
I started working at Edcon as a Merchandise Trainee and i must say it was the best from day one as i learned about the entire retail process. I've also learned the true meaning of teamwork, excellent customer service and patience. working with collegues who are hard workers and always there for you at all times makes my work more enjoyable because we become like a family and we depend on each other. The hardest part of my work is having to handle or meeting deadlines in a short duration , as i work in a retail company most clients complain about stock and product variety and also not wanting to wait in ques for more than 10 minutes, but I have learned to listern to them an treat them with respect at all times . I also haven't had a typical day at Edcon. I have Learned skills such as Communication Skills, Listening Skills, Analytical skills and many more.

Give us less hours
I have learned so much with edcon but they won't give you a position even you have long time and experience there and they giving us less our and I have bills to pay, I enjoy working there ingaging with the customer but it won't help pay my bills and I worked so hard there

Working with different characters and cultures
Being able to influence and lead a team of over 36 employees through motivation performance plans and reviews is a skill most have not perfected it take a whole other level of enthusiasm and energy to lead a team and achieve targets and objectives in a fun productive manner.
Pros: Knowing the company as a whole and veing able to function in both Admin and operations gives a great advantage in being able to handle all challenges the fast pace retail life humbles you into look forward to
Cons: Reatails long working hours dont allow much of a social life and at times that is not healthy as family & friends are important
