It was a learning curve

Is the industry where anyone would wish to work in, benefits and incentives. The most challenging part was when they change our agents, we find it more challenging with their strategy which it was not benefits us but most of us tried to fit in for the sake of the company and our reputation

Pros: Great opportunities to permanents employees
Cons: Renewal of contracts

I need employment.

I have been happy with MTN until they decided to sell the stores which has left some of us who have been working as temps for more than 3to 6 and more with nothing but to work for the new employer who has working conditions that do not go online with the south african law.

Pros: None
Cons: Long working hours, they sold us along with their stores and we are now forced to move to the new employer withouth our benefits, our salaries and working hours.

Excellent learning curve

I got to do a lot at as I started working here. Those who do amazing work are taken advantage off. You don't get rewarded for doing great work, however you get put down when you do something wrong. The salary is 90% lower than the telecommunications industry level.

Pros: Great benefits
Cons: No opportunity for growth

Opportunity to expand my horizon

The transition from Vodacom to MTN was huge learning curve in my career. At MTN I was exposed to a large number of new things like; CMA dealings/Staff Issues/Restructuring/Managing huge teams/Managing large budgets. I started working very closely with C-level stakeholders and providing strategic inputs in the organizational objectives which allowed me the opportunities to improve on my communication skills as well as my presentation skills for the relevant audience

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion or to operate at a senior level and be exposed to dealing with C-level stakeholders
Cons: Very manual reporting, dealing with such a large staff compliment people issues was very common
