Excellent growth opportunities

I get along very well with my co-workers, we respect each other and learn a lot from each other. We work with Private bank client's. What I enjoy the most is that when you call, the client is already expecting your call and makes time to talk to you. Some of the Private bank clients are quite difficult to speak to and some are very friendly. When they do accept your product they keep it. I've learnt not to judge the client by the way they speak to you, because there are some clients that you tell yourself, 'he is not gonna take it', then he takes it, so we need to treat each client special and give them 100% commitment. The challenging aspects of the job is the claims. Once you have sold a policy, you have to pray that the client does not claim, because the service we give the client's when we sell the policy is different to the service they get when they have to deal with the claims department, I actually sometimes wished we had dealt with the client from the point of sale up until he needs to claim.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Leads sometimes get very scares.

Excellent communication skills

A typical work day starts with touching base with my team by having a quick connect. Fridays are fun days where we start the day off by playing games. I'm a creative individual. I have learnt to look for the best in every situation as well as in every individual. Each of my team members possess a strength that I match to another persons and we then work cohesively. Balancing peoples personalities, learning abilities as well as generations is a bit of a challenge at times, My team comprises of 3 generations of individuals coming from very different backgrounds.

My employer of choice

I learnt the most during my stay and made a positive contribution as well. This is indeed a great place to work. There are ample opportunities for promotion and gaining varied experience if one applies themselves.

Pros: Apply yourself and you’ll go far.
Cons: The more you can take/absorb the more is expected on your plate.

I am a quick learner and eager to learn new things.

My work is more influenced by the goals that have been set as parameters to achieve Standard bank's business objectives. On a daily basis I do calls to about 5 to 10 business clients, the purpose is consolidate the relationship and ensuring that we close all gabs in terms of services requirements and other needs in relation to products. In this process I am able to pick up issues that are relevant to other departments which encourages collaboration . What I enjoy most is when we have a successful application , this means that the client is able to advance his/ her business through our efforts. Also to see a client being successful in business , growing is most satisfying to me.

Pros: Completing FAIS RE Exam in September 2016
Cons: Staff shortage

To provide input and direction on the end-to-end Technical Approach. To ensure consistency and feasibility of design decisions. To play a role within all major technical areas of the Data Warehouse, such as architecture, technical design approach, development standards, production and database support (Teradata). Knowledge transfer and research related to overall DW approach and strategy.

Perfect company to be on.

It not always a hectic day but sometimes it get too busy. It is challenging because we dealing with emergency services which include peoples life. We are working hand in hand with our team as the work we do need team to come together with their views on how to come up with a solution the the problem. I have learned how to work with other people and how to handle emergency calls and alerts. I also gained an experience on how travel operation is being run and how to look on a corporate world. Engaging with other people from other countries, getting to kn ow other languages. Its when there is an incident in a country where we have business on and you alone in the office and you need to do a follow up on the travelers in that affected country.

Pros: None
Cons: 12 hour are the long hours i have worked
