Was retrenched early in the year Worked for standard bank for 8 years and within those years I was based within the face to face customer service channels... I was a team leader tellers with 8 staff member 7 ATMs to service and 4 forex staff members that I was able to assist to produce a good team

Good learning curve.
A good learning curve. Work was extremely busy most of the time due to department being understaffed. Co-workers were easy go get along with. Learnt about account management , administration, customer service and conduct and working ethics , codes and policies. Most challenging aspect was getting recognition for a promotion.

Project Support Office Manager
Been in a project environment there is never a dull moment - a very fast paced (always need to be ready). I would like to think that I have a great relationship with my co-workers especially working in a big team you always need to be seen as approachable. I have learnt not to take things personal and that we are in a constantly changing environment. I enjoy interacting with various types of people. The most challenging aspect of my job is the changing environment as one builds relationships with people.

In my current role I have learnt negotiation skills, project management, time management, attention to detail and excellent communications skills. I have excellent skills in Microsoft office. I have excellent relationships with my colleagues, I can say we have developed a great team to work with.

My daily responsibilities
Manage staff performance and make sure third-party daily I have to make sure that all weekly targets are met and if not then address the issues immediately vendors are adhering to SLA

Exposure to the financial industry
Working at a bank now revolves around sales and generating revenue to keep your branch afloat. Teamwork is the heart of every success though some are rebellious. I have learnt about respect, values, customer service, following instruction and also compliance to avoid fines and penalties. I enjoy solutioning for customers nd giving them the best service which makes them leave the bank happy. Challenging aspect is achieving the targets because some customers don't want them and I am in no position to force them.

Great opportunities
Grow as individuals, great opportunities and great incentives. Treated staff with respect. Co workers enjoyed working with them. We were like a family. Learnt to be a team player and became dedicated to my work.

Excellent work ethic
Working at Standard Bank has grown me as an individual. Dealing with Managerial leaders who have certain standards of doing things and learning how to deal with them has grown me an individual. A fast-paced environment where change constantly takes place and you have to adapt fast. A typical day at work is never the same as each day presents a different challenge. But ultimately, i am passionate about what i do and i love the energy and challenges that came my way.
Pros: Competitive salary, advancement and further educational opportunities.
Cons: It is only as good as the people it employs.
