it is an amazing company with so much to learn everyday. there is no just one formula of how some of the things are executed. production will always be the number one Key performance indicator therefore material availability is dominant factor. there are issues of driving transformation when it comes to suppliers which is a bit challenging from a supplier development perspective. there are issues of trading with overseas company which somehow impact our daily production due to long lead times and red tape.
Pros: Executive Management level
Cons: Company currently cutting cost and is using a method where people are doing more without any incentive to cut cost od labour.

Electrical Maintenance
My CV review I have started to working for Transnet since 1999, doing my training for electrical fitter in Koedoespoort (pta) where I have learned the basics about electrical engineering and also about the electrical locomotives and rotating machines. After qualifying as an electrical fitter artisanship I got a position to commission the electrical locomotives in Bayhead then Transwerk Durban I started to work there in June 2002 as the testing officer testing loco prior refurbishing and also after refurbishing is completed, testing of frames, components, valves, fault-finding and brake testing. In June 2006 I then got promoted to work in fault room Ermelo now coal-line but, I first started to work as the preparation fitter and later promoted as a faulty. (Attending to locomotives failure in the depot and also in section).

Learning organisation
My work involves a broader perspective into HR which involves change management projects ,engagements,implementing employee value proposition,recognition and rewards systems,creating a conducing culture by means of implementing relevant projects, driving talent managements boards ,drive the incapacity management programmes,wellness and recruitment process. Implementing Employee value projects and worklife projects was very exciting for me. Dealing with variety is what I enjoy most.
