University of Johannesburg Reviews

Learning is the central point

The place is exploratory and teaching, You get to meet a lot of intelligently gifted individuals with humility growth is at the center of the activity, the most challenging aspect is the back to back assignments and researches that is required to be completed, and still have to make time to study and be a normal active person studying is the most exciting activity for me because it allows you to grow and mature in personal development and career preparation , though assignments are not the favorite activities ,they expose you to a practical level, which will groom you for more practical engagement Though the challenges of having to have sleep less nights have been accepted as my daily bread

Pros: growth in theoretical concept, better paradigm change
Cons: assignments

Excellent learning curve

I enjoy working on this environment because i am not being micro managed. I function well in an environment where i am given opportunity to do a work on my own. My good interpersonal skills makes it easy for me to work with my colleagues. I have realized that each of my colleagues has that unique contribution towards my work. Each work environment has its politics but i do not allow politics to disturb me to carry my duties. I actually uses then to my benefit to perform better. The good thing about my work environment is that there is no jealousy. Everyone focuses on their own goals and their work. we complement each other and always encourage each other. The other good thing about this work is i can do most of my tasks at home. The challenging aspect is that you have to plan very well ahead. No one is there to micromanage you. You have to have good time management skills

Pros: Flexible working hours
Cons: Lower salaries

Excellent learning curve

I have learnt to work with people and to be patient with my colleagues at all times. The most challenging thing is working in groups with people who have different experience and opinion from you. You have to come to a common thing that you all agree on.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours
