Leaning curve

Have to get up early for my shift ,once I get at work I have a game plan with my team and to see how everyone is doing ,if they are unable to make it to work they’ll message me .i have learned to delegate tasks and make sure I follow up on them and help where I can .i enjoyed working with my team and helping develop there careers.the most challenging part was being overruled at every turn by management even when there judgement was bad .another challenging aspect was not being able to enjoy any off days as the store struggled and kept phoning for me to come in

Lead in your own right

The clothing business requires to plan for launch seasonally, go through emails to check on the day to day tasks for business expectations, work collaboratively with others on an 9 hour day shift, I've learned to lead and organize which is what I enjoy most, inventory can be lacking which affects customer service

Pros: They ladder of opportunities is high and simple to climb

Excellent learning curve

I have been in retail as a manager for 9 years and I have learnt different things from the two companies that I have worked in. I am currently a Foods manager at Woolworths and our main focuses are our people and our customers. We engage a lot with our staff aswel as with the management team o that everyone is well informed and is working towards the same goals. We always try to involve our people in ways of improving our ways of working and that becomes very clear in the kind of service we give to our customers. We are also very strict when it comes to processes because they drive availability, presentation, customer service. We work very closely with our staff interms of performance management and coaching and that yields great results and dedication from our people. I run two very big departments in my store, which is the sales floor team and our service area team (Interactive department) and overall that is +35 staff.

Pros: great working conditions, great support from the regional staff and management, intouch interms of staff and customers, continuous training and development for managers, everyone respects the values of the company
Cons: growth process is very slow, move around a lot, lack of managers on the system meaning that we have reduced managers in stores, end up taking a lot more work load, lack of recognition for great performance.

Excellent Learning curve

A typical work day A typical work day at daffodil usually starts with a short informal meeting over coffee. We discuss our work complleted and in progress, challenges and possible solutions to technical issues, and technical training required to expand our expertise. My relationship with co-workers As a small team we got along very well, because the environment was of such an exciting and tough nature we had to rely on each others strengths to progress. What i have learnt What i enjoy most the most challenging aspects of the job

Potential retail store manager

I am an avid store manager with over 13 years of retail experience. The last 10 of those years have been spent in a management role. As a current store Manager I supervise staff set employee schedules,recruit and train new employees, make banking deposits oversee discipline and human resource issues overall industrial relations. i deal with customer complaints and handle any situations that arise in the store. I have superior critical thinking skills am highly organized and possess excellent time management. My people skills are exemplary and I can deal with nearly any interaction with ease and a calm manner. I am familiar with all aspects of retail management and am a quick learner. I have received awards for reaching sales goals.

Good communication between staff and management is very frutful

I know how to open the sorore and close. I enjoy working with my staff as we all have good friendship they always need me whenever they find any complication cause I dont take them in other I help them in a good manner. I know how to process all orders, how to visuals stork due their event eg christmas demo , new year, braai etc. I have the following skills communication, interpersonl, verbal and writtern, computerise as well as listerning
