Gaining new experience in a new sector
My day starts of with checking my e-mails, correspondence of acknowledgement of cases received. The cases are employees of all Western Cape Provincial Government departments that are applying for sick leave over and above their allocated 36 days in a 3 year cycle as well as ill health retirement. I capture all information onto a word template in order for the occupational therapists to asses as approved or declined. My colleagues and I work as a week to attain the Turn Round Times of the SLA. I enjoy learning about the health factors that affect employees from a day to day basis and how illnesses are treated. The most challenging is reading Doctors reports on the mental health factors and effects.

Excellent platform to gain knowledge and a new skill set
My typical work day includes the following uploading unidentified deposits, triggering repurchases, downloading bank statements from Standard Bank Business Online, paying daily commission, capturing market value adjustments, year-end risk adjustments, triggering payaways. I have a lovely, friendly relationship with my co-workers. We work extremely well together. I have learnt quiet a lot. Accounting entails so much more, and being given a platform to put action to what I've learnt is life changing. I've learnt methods o work easier and at the same time ensuring my work is complete and accurate. I enjoy the challenge of working. Being given the opportunity to learn more in my division. To learn what a mere accountant does on a daily basis, and how we as accountants add value to our organization. It's the deadlines! But with correct planning and time management skills, it becomes easier with practice

I work hard and deliver on deadlines timeously
I have been employed by one of the biggest industry leaders in the Financial Services space for 14 years. Of which 7 of those years, has been in the Learning & Development space. I have extensive knowledge of how the skills & development requirements in business works and because of my knowledge, I am able to translate that into effective activities/results. My outgoing personality has also seen me grow into a very confident person in my role.
Pros: There is definitely a learning culture instilled and the employees take ownership of their learning
Cons: The organisation doesn't reward super achievers and don't seem to worry much about the staff turnover, especially of excellent staff leaving the company

I learned to put myself in the client's shoes at all times
I have 4 years experience in administration of Retirement Funds. I can work under pressure to meet deadlines. I can be an asset to any organization. I studied Financial Accounting at Dut.
Pros: I work well with others
Cons: I sometimes focus to much on a task that I can block out everything else

Excellent customer service
Working at Forbes gave me exposure of learning new challenges, Working hand in hand with security services Being the front line of the fire Marshall Conducting search with our security Being able to track the parcel for a clients Giving gaidline on switchboard Receptionist was my heart beat loving to work with elderly clients Seeing clients happy after the service I have provided gives me job well done for the whole day.

I am a leaner contract and it is a very good company, and with good benefits
I work 8h 30m a day, and I have a good relationship with my colleagues through I am a leaner contract because I was in a leaner ship but they treat me like a permanent employee. what I have learned is that you should love you work, and when doing it you must do it because you love it. what I enjoy the most is the people I work with they are friendly and supportive.

I am looking for a new and challenging role
I am an experienced Pensions Payroll Manager with an excellent track record at Alexander Forbes. I joined the company as a Disability and Pensions Payroll Administrator on 16 May 1989 and subsequently enjoyed significant progress as my potential and output was realized. I was promoted to Assistant Manager responsible for the monthly payment of Disability members, pensioners and widows and Orphans in 1993 and was subsequently tasked with designing the technical payroll training courses and manuals, systems enhancements and staff training for a period of a year. I am currently responsible for 5 Supervisors who has approximately 4 staff each and who administer +-85 000 pensioner payments.
Pros: I enjoy working with the people in my department and parting with my knowledge

Great for a starter/entry level
Big company name... Mediocre staff treatment. Extremely difficult to advance beyond senior status, have to wait for resignations for promotions. Great staff culture. High pressured due to data volumes.
Pros: Great learning curve in corporate environment
Cons: High pressured deadlines, no rewards for extra efforts, portfolio volume increase with no respective increase in renumeration

Exellence in administration
Good day I am currently in a huge environment which is manageable as it is. Working hours are from Monday to Friday unless stated under wise by manager and with flexible hours. Co-workers are people who are very easy to work around especially with workloads as teams, they are the ones who have thought me the most in the company and have improved my skills. there are always challenges in a work place but the most of it all was being able to submit work before cut off, this made me to be able to work faster and being able to multitask to get everything done in time or before time.
Pros: An opportunity for a permanant position
Cons: long working hours
