Learned a lot about banking and making smart financial decisions

Capitec is a great bank and a great place to learn banking finance and how you can make better financial decisions. The company structure is great and organised. Unfortunately the management is not consistent and makes promotion difficult based on a personal agenda. I had a great experience with my colleagues and helping clients learn or make better choices in saving and using their money. I had tough time with management as she was hell bent on proving that she as a woman and manager has more power than the male employees. This in turn delayed promotion and growth within the business.

Opportunity for growth

I believe, in working strategically and working smart. My career took off in 2002 when I started my journey with Capitec bank as a service consultant, I worked my way to an assistant branch manager and to my current position as a Branch manager. Some of the skills I have learnt in my journey, is training and learning development as I was awarded the opportunity to co-facilitate and conduct training programs. I have also had an opportunity to be an acting regional manager, which edified my business acumen and leadership skills.

The company is best to learn and work under pressure also managing time towards clients

Am willing to work from Monday to Friday 6 to 8 hours a day. During public holidays if is necessary and I ordered by senior. I learn how to solve conflict amongst staff and client. And meet clients needs. Allow clients to express their feelings. Make client to feel comfortable. Most interesting is to divede people or staff in two group and compite themself to achieve lot and meet clients needs.

Every day life in my position

My day start at 7:30 , at 7:45 I have a team meeting with the employees. At 8:00 westart serving clients. I start with HR, managing leave, capturing time off, checking maintenance issues, dealing with customer queries, identifying gaps onstage consultants serving clients and train. Sending service related reports, Identifying business opportunities around the area and doing presentations.

Pros: There's always vacancies which makes it easy to be promoted
Cons: Very very long working hours plus strenuous workload

Excellent learning environment

Great learning opportunities, exposure to many areas at once. Great team work, great client service. Comes with long working hours and small salary for lots of responsibilities

Excellent learning curve

My job is very broad,it gave me a lot of experience as there is no specific job that you responsible.we do everything.I work well with my collewues where when I am not in they ca feel it.I am a crazy someonea challenging day is when there is no bussiness and wehave to close our targets.I have learnt to be patient and team work and to always strive for achieving my goals by hard work

Good in marketing, good listening skills to make sure I’ve understood a client

I learnt to be able to work with a team, work under pressure and to work on time when working. I learnt to be professional always smile for clients, leave personal problems at the door.

Excellent growth opportunity

I started working for my current company soon after university. It's a great company with great room for growth; and innovation its one of the fundamental cores. I have gained a lot of experience working for the company as well as the actual meaning of being client centric.

Great work experience

I enjoy learning new things. I think out of the box and always want solutions to problems. I work well with clients and also understand their unspoken words when serving them.
