Excellent experience and learning curve

Edcon is a good company that takes good care of their employees. The only problem is that there s no security anymore due to their forever restructuring. But all in all I had the most amazing years of my life. Had an excellent relationship with everybody and even if one had a problem with a colleague but it was resolved professionally. With no grudges whatsoever.

Very little opportunity for career advancement

I’ve learned a lot there. For the most part it has been fun. But opportunities for career advancement are limited. Company culture is nice for the most part, I feel indifferent about it. Don’t love it but I also don’t hate it

Excellent learning curve

Retrenchment and restructuring makes it hard to grow in company. No training given. Teaching yourself how to do certain things. Working with a good team that is eager to help and learn, relying on the staff. Most difficult is having to struggle and do certain challenges without help.

Good working experience

- Dealing with customer queries - Ability to reach daily sales target - Couching and assisting of staff - Planning and upskilling staff - Good management skills - Very good with solving problems and customer complaints - Dealing with difficult customers was challenging

Fast leaner, good listener

working for edcon teaches one a lot of things, we work a lot with customers because they want their customers to come back they teach us how to offer the best if not excellent customer service. i have learnt how to work with different kinds of people, i enjoy working with people in fact i love working with people you learn a lot of things that you didn't even know. challenging part about my job is that i need a strategy in order to open accounts, how i should entice customers, the energy, the smile, sense of humor and make them believe in what i am selling.

Pros: open as much accounts as you can
Cons: normal hours but wait on your feet all day

Excellent learning curve

Responsibilities: Participate in Agile sprint planning sessions. Participate in backlog grooming sessions. Performs test analysis. Design test cases Execute functional tests on web and mobile platforms. Report on test progress (Daily Standups) Reporting and tracking defects using Jira (Defect Management) Retesting defects and performing regression tests. Participate in Sprint Retrospective.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: huge work loads in a little amount of time

I want to see my self having job and to further my studies

during working at edcon was very good and motivated by cowlicks and learning more from them sharing goals building strong team and having good relationship with clients and cowlicks from my co-workers I learnt how to solve problem and also how to work in a team I really enjoyed being working with people who understand my points of views to the business and respect from them its again to the business

Pros: i will like to work with the company so that we can build a better company and comes with little knowledge on how to change this to better
Cons: im willing to work any hours given on that work or more

Good customer service

They under pay due to long hours and lot of work. There is no enough staff in the store and no enough budget for staff and repair and maintenance. There is a huge gap between the store manager salary and a store admin manager

Edcon is a place to work, balance culture company, good transformations, got potential trainings, customer frustration is most challenging, engaging with customers everyday with their different characters is what Like the most about my job.
