Great company to start out at and learn but you will very soon find a plateau. Management are extremely self centered and do not wish to see young people grow and excel.

Willing to learn new things
I would like to express my interest in the position advertised. I am confident that the companies team's values and objectives highly complement my own strengths and enthusiasms. Well Experience
Working at eskom as a physicist is great honour to learn more about nuclear techonology. Team working, building up of family motives, healthy attendance in a privacy and respective way, awareness especial to keep employee updated in all areas of life, invitation of medical schemes, healthy products companies, special nurses, financial institutes representatives and many more.

I have learned alot and managed to pass my trade test
Eskom is a bug company where production is a priority and you are expected to make sure the plant runs well without any repeating of jobs due to wrong way of doing things,everyone knows their objectives therefore no one is supposed to be reminded to checj or do inspections in their respective plant,when there is measure outages we all are expected to work day and night and to assure our superior that time set will be meet.i have learnt to worker under different leaders witb different approaches.

Great learning experience as we face alot of operation and maintenance problems at eskom
I work at Eskom as an engineer in training in the bulk materials handling department where we work with various machines ranging from the ash stacker, coal stacker, coal reclaimer, buffalo feeder, coal and ash conveyor belts, ash and coal silos, coal and ash wash down draining system with clarifiers and treatment plants which include a lot of pipework, actuators and valves. I work with engineering change proposals and changes, commissioning of systems, reviewing of design, operation and maintenance manuals and ensuring that when failure occurs, the necessary steps to have the problem not repeat itself and also better the plant design and operation.

An Engineer-in-Training
Two years’ experience in the Eskom Generation Division as an Engineer In Training. 2. Two years knowledge and much appreciation for the Duvha Power Station condensate system. 3. Appreciation of pressure vessels, variety of valves and how these components can have an effect on the business in terms of the production or megawatts produced. My key responsilities were as follows: 1. Optimize the performance of the allocated plant. 2. Identify and resolve problematic plant issues. 3. Manage plant modifications. 4. Manage engineering projects. 5. Provide technical advise and assistance.

Excellent learning curve
I am a great person with a great personality, I fit well in a group due to my skills of being a wonderful team worker. Every two months I worked with different teams so that I can gain experience in all the departments at Eskom. In the first department I’ve learnt how to do maintenance for HV equipment at their substations, on my second department I’ve how to track data of the network using SCADA and powerfactory softwares, on the third department I learnt on how to install, and maintain distribution boards, we also dealt with power loss and help fix it on my last department I’ve learnt about the protection of the network, I installed correct settings, testing and maintenance on the relays and circuit breakers. I enjoyed working at Protection it gave sense because every person affected by the Eskom network is a victim of dying should they not follow the rules on how to use .
Pros: Great opportunity to learn about the electrical Engineering in all aspects.
Cons: Dangerous to work with.

I have no reference point ,so to me not bad.
I know no other company beside Eskom. I have been working for them straight from Varsity.it gives fear to apply out but i want a career change . hope and pray i am not making mistake of my life.hope there wont regret of my career choice.
