Excellent learning curve
I had a great time at Eskom learning all about our power supply and distribution.. There is nothing negative i can point out from Eskom, it is a great company to work for, full of opportunities.. I would recommend Eskom to anyone who wants to empower themselves through knowledge..

Excellent
It was really nice working at this company. Great opportunity and great work experience and great working conditions. Given the proper working Personal protective equipment. And great working with colleagues who also love and enjoy their work.

Growth
I work in a power plant, we generate electricity. My typical day to day job and dress code are not formal is strictly hard hat, safety boots and reflector jacket and trouser. Above all I still do administrative work of compiling procedures and policies with the power station. The most challenging part of my day to day to work is that I stay in Pretoria and travel to Komati power station daily I have been doing this for 7 years and 8 months this shows my loyalty at work and also the willingness to travel. My work starts at 7:15 where I should have the presentations for the services providers ready by 7:30 and I knock off 4:30 travel back to Pretoria. with that being said I enjoy working with people from all levels , from the general manager to the cleaner as I have to also give training on the environmental awareness's.

Cons: Travelling from Pretoria to Middelburg daily

Security
The environment is great to work at, the colleagues are very. There are lots of learning opportunities. There is so much openness in the environment, all the way from managers to the cleaners, there are no boundaries except for proffesionalism displayed. The friendship is kept during the office hours, and even after working hours, it's the kind of people you easily ask them to collect your kids from school if you are not around. I would really like to still get a fresh environment like that if I ever have to leavegration
Pros: Friendliness of all employees, no discrimination. Environment is great for learning and each day brings new excitements
Cons: Company is currently not doing well, thus hindering growth. People are leaving for greener pastures and their spaces are not filled, thereby increasing workload to those left behind

Excellent learning curve
I am a great person with a great personality, I fit well in a group due to my skills of being a wonderful team worker. Every two months I worked with different teams so that I can gain experience in all the departments at Eskom. In the first department Ive learnt how to do maintenance for HV equipment at their substations, on my second department Ive how to track data of the network using SCADA and powerfactory softwares, on the third department I learnt on how to install, and maintain distribution boards, we also dealt with power loss and help fix it on my last department Ive learnt about the protection of the network, I installed correct settings, testing and maintenance on the relays and circuit breakers. I enjoyed working at Protection it gave sense because every person affected by the Eskom network is a victim of dying should they not follow the rules on how to use .
Pros: Great opportunity to learn about the electrical Engineering in all aspects.

Great working environment
A typical work day at my company is based on the respect that each person has to give. My relationship with my coworkers is always great as we have a lot in common. I have learnt so much from my experience at this company. I enjoy working with people and learning how to make a difference. The most challenging part is that you need to be able attend to emergencies immediately.

Quick growth within the company.
Problem-solving proficiency Interpersonal and Communication skills Initiative and motivational skills During my studies as well as my experiential learning I have done up till now, I have learnt/acquired many skills that enable me to be able to handle any challenge or task that is assigned to me. I have learned to plan and execute ideas/ projects within a specified period as well as to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. By heading various projects my leadership skills have been honed/ enhanced so as to effectively execute tasks, delegate responsibilities, liaise with all stakeholders, and to apply resources in a responsible fashion.

Working for the Company is Interesting and challenging especially because its a very big industry.
