Excellent opportunity and a learning curve

Being part of the FirstRand group was the most exciting thing. It was a great one year experience working there, I was in a learnership. As I learner I became a sponge, and absorbed as much information as I could. It was an honor to work in the corporate world and I grew each and every day, learning new things every time. I worked as a credit Controller, had the best team who always had much to share and help up where I needed help.

Great customer culture

Work starts at 8H00 am till 17H00 pm. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The company keeps up to its values and standards. Customer service and professionalism are very key aspects. I have learnt to be very attentive to every detail of my work, learnt how to be professional at all times and how to work fast and carefully during peak periods like month end. I enjoy the rewards when we receive incentives for competitions within the department. What is most challenging is working in peak periods when short staffed but otherwise even in times where I would deal with a difficult customer , I have been taught to always be solution based.

Daily tasks include: Making sales daily target Customer service Capturing and recording customers info Recording sales Data capturing of all relevant info Sorting office admin and doing all tasks needed

Strength and abilities

with 10 years experience working in the banking industry i have learnt to work accurately,efficiently and vigilant all the time.i enjoy jobs that test my abilities to show my full potential and creativeness.The most challenges about the job is risk and working as a team with my co-workers.

Knowledgeable experienced

A typical day would start with arrange appointments on a daily basis I would visit at least 40 clients per month and one day per week for admin, I perform various projects, take calls in and out of office and on the road to assist clients and manage expectations, my relation with co workers is professional and honest we assist each other when required, I have learnt how to manage corporate clients build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to multi task and manage a portfolio of 500 plus clients annually, I enjoy networking and meeting different people daily and understanding clients requires and offering financial solutions and build a network, the most challenging aspect is to satisfy both internal and external stakeholders

Excellent Team with communication skills

My relationship was mostly professional and I enjoy the level of understanding and support if one does not understand somethings or misinterpret somethings the fast minded and accuracy because the keep saying they need you, you need them!!mostly performance and skills development within the Company Is very important.

Excellent environment and learning place

It's an 8 to 5pm work daily which we now multi skilled to sell all product ober the phone though it becomes a bit challenging cause there is a lot to say that needs to be said in one call due to being compliant and the time one has with a client on the phone, because people we call them during their working hours and having a good relation ship with the team leader and other team member's its good for productivity because not all days are the same.

Excellent learning experience and finance and customer service experience

My contract expires month end January so I've had the joy of working with caring, friendly loving colleagues especially my service host Eleonor Walsh who encouraged me everyday to do the best of my ability and to work hard and always assist clients to the best of my ability. The most thing I've enjoyed in the company is the outings and team buildings were you get to know people on a person level.

Pros: Short work hours
Cons: Working schedule not really working properly specially for me for the short hours

Excellent Learning Curve

Working at FNB has made me feel deeply invested as my ideas was taken seriously, as some work and some don't however the company was confident enough to invest in me. a Typical day for us is that our office can be anywhere as we only come to the main head office when we have important meetings with internal or external people. I have a amazing relationship with my co-workers who often refer to me as the clue of the team. I have learnt that we all need each other to make a department successful, trying to step on heads wont work and trying to be an island wont work. I enjoy being able to do what I love which is working with people. The challenges I faced was a daily thing for me as I not only worked with my team but I also assisted the Head of HR and the IR Managers and their respective teams and the more people there is the more complaints :-)

Pros: Get rewarded for a Job well done
Cons: Takes away some family time.

Excellent learning and team work

At FNB we were working as a team sharing and coming with new ideas ,innovative and building long lasting relationship with customers. I have a great time with my couleges as well as my operational manager respecting each other ,guiding and protecting customer information. I have learn to respect, work hard even sacrificing lunch time and good communication skills. My challenges were multi-tasking and dealing with angry customers leave them satisfied.
