Excellent learning curve

Its a good company

irst time in an inbound call centre. Awkward hours Mon-Sun including holidays,hectic shifts above all I learned to work under pressure as there where target to meet at the end of the shift,that's where I learned about punctuality as wel and Starting a day at 10 in the morning is great missing all the daily traffic and working a flexible shifts and hours allows u to do your daily duties without any hassle and stress

Pros: Merchants looks after their staff from my experience. They have great training and clear career paths.

Very good company with lots to offer

FUN environment good culture. Learn everyday everyone is like a family i learnt a lot that will benefit us in our daily lives. We quote customers everyday on building materials

Great platform to enhance communication skills

Working at a call centre taught me how to be patiwnt with people and speak in a kind and respectful manner with people nomatter how tough the situation may be. It has taught me how to listen and also come up with proper solutions to help people with their problems. It has taught me good time management skills as well. It is stressful especially when the customer is upset, it puts you under alot of pressure especially if the query is in regards to a new product which you are still learning about. The key is to remain calm but to always assist the customer.

Great training experiencing within the networking sector and technical support

Start to my day would start at the early hours of the morning which s before sunrise. because of no structure within the basis of simple seating many a times we are moved to different locations with in the center to accommodate perhaps a night shift team and this causes the start to a lagging day. As the day progress lots of skills within the customer service experience plays a big role in the days progress in a positive way as we deal with all sorts of clients and deal with lots of different situation and the day would end with admin work and follow up and clean ups of accounts.

Vast experience learnt in line with my Operations manager role

Have daily interaction with co-workers to identify any gaps, recognition, areas of development for day ahead I have learnt and enhanced vast number of competencies within my role including analysis of data, coaching techniques, methods of how to change up daily routines in order to drive improved performance/alignment to meet our daily targets I enjoy the pressure of the environment in order to make sure that throughout the day we are making target and coming up with constant daily solutions through each day to maximize performance

Pros: Always having to be proactive within the CallCewntre unit in order to drive performance,havng to deal with staff daily to encourage to meet and exceed daily delivery, having to look at all aspects in terms of metircs and analysis in order to increase/maximise performance
Cons: growth limited within the company, not alot of opportunities arise within the company in order to grow and move up in roles

Merchants Member

Working for merchants has definitely been a expanding experience for me thus far. In which I mean allowing me to gain experience in certain I had yet to come across. A typical day would consist of being ready to work by 3:30am (as we work on an international BPO and need to conform with international ours) and then assisting Ausie client with health cover information, comparisons and recommendations. My co-workers and front line manager are what keeps the momentum for me. I have a good relationship with everyone so interactions at work are always pleasant. I enjoy working on international administrative systems and processors because it builds my skill set and being able to communicate with clients abroad helps to build my social and problem solving skills. Challenges include work hours and salary base. Further more, a positive experience so far.

4 years experience, computer skill and multi tasking.

It is a good experience to work in a call centre because you get to learn how to deal with customers and your employees, it teaches you to work as a team and helps you learn new things. I mostly enjoy every moment i spent on calls knowing that i will make someone happy by resolving their queries. The most challenging part is not being able to give the customer what they want because of the terms and conditions of the company. But all in all, i enjoy working as a team.

Excellent learning curve

Working hours are flexible and work in a team of 10 to 15 people. The company changes the work employees do every month which makes it very hard to grow and learn more on the position. I report to a team leader and every month I change team leaders which makes it hard to connect with fellow colleagues. I've learnt how to adapt quick to change as there are so many changes and different skills such as mentoring, report writing and administrative. I love how they recognize people when have achieved something.

Cons: No growth and low wage
