Working at Standard Bank has been the exciting because being on calls and servicing the client you don't know which query or complaint is going to come you way.I have built good relationships with supporting departments.

In this pressurized environment vast knowledge and efficiency is required
The job provides alot of knowledge with regards to the procedure of cross order payments and exports. it provides the functioning of the SARB. we all function as a team in this department and perform with excellence. it is an environment where i am extremely happy. unfortunately it is a temporary position. the only disadvantage is the salary.

Great learning customer service experience
the greatest compliment about the experience is being able to provide services to foreign clients, how they view our country. Plus with my team and supervisors, learning from them as they have been working there for years, learning news things daily as it's a wide range of information to know. Foreign Exchange department is more than expected as it's got a wide range of co-departments.

Career growth
Great environment, friendly people and nice office space. Work 8 hours a day Monday to Friday. I get along with most of my colleagues. I jave acquired a lot of skills and continue to learn something new every single day. I enjoy the work environment, themprojects I work on and working with the people in my team. Meeting all the stakeholders expectations.

Poor
At this moment my challenge is to be permanent of which with been working here since last year September but no promise at all. My relationship with my coworkers is very good since I came here. I have learned that working with different people its a good experience at this moment cause you learn different things everyday.

I am very good in dealing with people both in the work place and with customers
• Welcoming customers • Assisting to manage the queues on the enqueries sales and service • Providing qualified sales for the branched and prestige bankers • Assisting customers with the internet registrations and educating them on how to go about using the systems • Assisting with sales in terms of student loans applications and registrations of students accounts • Helping on quick service queries • Assisting team leaders with documents that needed to be typed out • Composing of emails to the staff • Assisting with filing and sorting out business mandates • Assisting with events planning in the branches and fun activities to keep the branches active • Help manage the managers diary and meetings • Assist with presentations and drafting of one • Preparing slides for power point presentations • Help in typing out excel sheets

Working in the front desk is very interesting, but at first it was very difficult as people come with diferent problems at bank some for loarns, some to claim their funeral policies but now its very easy for me to work with difference clients with differents moods, and for staff members its very nice and easy working with them

A typical review of Sovereign Servaas of the Family Steenkamp
A typical day at work consists of: Customer centric care and client based work ie transactions and querry resolving. My relationship with co-workers are that of a professional nature and nothing more than that(in other words: we function as a team but aren't really friends that phone each other or visit each other). I have learnt a lot working for the bank ie customer relationship management and alot of financial things. I enjoy making customers happy. The most challenging aspect of my current position is compliance. It's difficult to give the best customer experience and do everything by the "book". The book slows a person down but I understand the importance of it namely minimalizing losses.

I am the kind of person anyone wants to work with i am a team player when it comes to work
I am a very out spoken person i like to raise my point of view in any matter that i am faced with, i love doing telling and administrative work, i always help out others when i am finished with my daily duties i am very good in multi tasking hence everyone always asks me to help them out. I always stand my ground in any situation, i take accountability when i have done wrong be it with what i was suppose to do or with an co-worker. i like to plan ahead for the future so that i can have a vision of where i want to be in the next year or so. i am always on time hence i am always on everyones case when it comes to time keeping.
Pros: You always know what you need to do and when it needs to be done you must be sales driven to be able to work in a banking enviroment and you have to have the kind of mind set that tells you that the people you are working with is your family they are the ones that you spend most of the time with
Cons: You must be willing to sacrifice a lot of family time when it comes to you being on standby and it can be draining when you have to meet your targets for the month and you just don't find the right clients who are interested in the product
