Tellkom was a excellent company to work for through connecting with customers
Working for Telkom for 25 years I have been in various divisions with great opportunities. For the past 8 years I developed in to a devoted leader. Every day is a new challenge. Punctuality is very important in Telkom, especially where client service is involved. Teamwork was the focus point with my colleges and subordinates. These close-knit relationships motivate employees in parallel and align the team to work harder, cooperate and be supportive of one another. Efficiency and Quality in any project, financial report, analysis etc is of almost important. Working for a company such as Telkom with strict deadlines taught me how to be self-disciplined. I learned to be detail-oriented and to think three steps ahead about what I would be asked. My biggest challenge was being part of the pilot when Telkom Mobile (8ta) was implemented. There was nothing in place. I was thrilled to search for solutions and also been when the new SAP version was introduced.

Great exposure and product experience
It was a great exposure and experience in working with various products on both voice and broadband services. Cross functional interactions with different departments and vendors was also a great learning experience.

I have learnt a lot in this job and I'm skilled now
Working at telkom and retail was a beginning for me I am now not employed and I'm the only person working I am a bread winner I am available immediately. Working with clients face to face taught me calmness and has tought me much more

Work, People, Passion
Currently Customer Retentions, OBCC cancellations, Crediting customers, and Vendor support is my day to day function. A typical day at work is working through anywhere from 100 -200 cancellations a day as well as crediting customer's and waiving fees where applicable. Correcting the customer's package they place on and retaining customers. I enjoy learning new things daily and if I am unable to assist a customer I will go to the correct department requesting for assistance and as a way to upskill myself I usually ask how its done for future reference if I come across a similar situation I am able to resolve. In the 13 years I have been employed at Telkom I have acquired extensive knowledge this allowing me to work and deal with different situations. The most challenging aspect is expecting the next person to have as must passion as myself when dealing with both internal and external customer's

My experience at Telkom
I specifically enjoyed working at the above mentioned entity because it encompassed a lot of training prior to starting a normal working day.As such we were all expected to arrive at least two hours before commencing a shift.The most valuable experience attained was the ability to work effectively as a team.l also enjoyed the extrinsical energy within the work place it always lifted my spirit...Above all was what was most educational was the company's list of good work ethics which was a constant reminder to keep a positive attitude..
