Edcon it was like home,sending feedbacks &also collating for region,filling everyday,tasking staff,merchandising,replenishing,receiving&unpacking,cellphones,promoting promotion &sales,putting customer first. We were like a big family,sharing ideas,knowledge,huddling every morning and afternoon,I have learned a lot each teach one,p n l, stock and sales,koi,How to keep customer coming in our company. Enjoyed huddles discussing how to improves our sales woo &etc.challenges it was compitetors but we were making sure we promote via sparked,approach customers,fliers

Share knowledge
Customer is my day. I am the driving force behind ensuring that I can make a change in teh customers life, by implementing quick win that is beneficial to the customer but constantly ensuring that cost saving is part of the drive. Ensuring that quality is adhered to by the outsourced call centre and best practices are shared. Key initiatives, would be the introduction of a case management tool to ensure that the customer is never left behind and always the focus point of decisions. Being part of a energetic team and helping each other is key and knowing that no man is left behind. Challenges currently is red tape within the company that could extend a quick fix but would take 6 months due to governance measures.
Pros: Being exposed to retail is very exciting and drives you to always try harder and work better. Empowring and allowing staf f to make decisions with the least financial impact on teh company.
Cons: Stuck is old ways of thinking and still practicing old methods that are not beneficial to the company and more importantly the customer.

Welcome Challenge
The company has not been doing well for the past few years, therefore it has been about survival since joining the company. We have been working on reducing costs and increase turnover. Stakeholder relationships have been critical as we needed all parties to be aligned and onboard. The fear of losing a job taught me to appreciate what I have and the importance of good relationships in this industry. It also taught me responsibility and to stay calm under difficult circumstances. I have grown into a resilient person and a strong believer in teamwork. It's true when they say teamwork makes the dream work.

Poor learning curve
I can't even support my family with the money I get every month and I can't pay my daughter's university fees.I would be honoured if I get this job because I would be able to support my family and their needs

Great learning curve
Typical day involves extensive analysis of the business and continuous ways to bring positive change in the business. The environment is relaxed, sometimes fast paced and the co workers are friendly and good to work with.

Edcon is Good working Group
I am store operation manager, I dedicate to making sure all products in Store are at right position to customers interest, also making all products at stock room are represented on the sales floor (Right products, Right Qualities, Right time to right customer always). At all time creating customer experience of a mind blowing, in case their around the mall they couldn't leave without entering my store. Making the store user friendly to customers and employees. Mentoring, supporting and Develop my team of employees or colleagues. Verifying store Admin checks and stock Admin, including store Finances and discipline in all times.
Pros: Great opportunity on promotions
Cons: Working long days without day offs most influence are Regional Management.

Excellent learning curve
Not much growth in a bigger store, not much appreciation for time and effort, no contribution for medical aid nor provident fund. A smaller store has more potential, team work and eager staff.

Passionate in Customer service, achieving all business strategies and profit.
I an currently unemployed since from October 2019, where i was working as a Store Manager within Edcon at an Edgar's store and various store for 10 years in Management. I have worked and grown much in retail and dealing with customers which has become my passion in my previous company. Team work, mentoring and coaching is my key driver to my colleges and love to get staff understand the business performance and strategies to towards as a team. Challenging aspect in my experience was loss control but with constant focus, team involvement, proper control over high risk has been always a good help in curbing it.
