Job description
I started working for this company in 2006 as a temp and because of my determination on what I do they took me on the 1 year course and they gave me a permanent employment and they moved me from Mall to the store in Town and I worked there as the head cashier, stockroom(receiving stock). After I was promoted to be the Merchandise and I applied for the credit associate post they took me and I am working close with the management. Now I am doing the following: Inquiries Batch Cards Cash Office Banking Administration (Filling) Stork Room (receive stork and Filling)
Pros: the shop opens at 09:00 and we need to be at the shop around 08:00
Cons: we do work long hours during stock taking and the last day of the Month

Good company
We had a room for growth within the company. Team work and multitasking on a daily basis. Team work played a big role to achieve daily task. The staff will carry out the daily task as a team. The challenging aspect was festive holidays , working in Menlyn mall, the closing hours were abnormal during festive sesson. I learned that to work as a team is very vital in retail. Where the store achieve daily target it was refreshing.

Cons: When working in the mall, you will have strange hours to work

More knowledge about retails
Helps with the money used for applications ,so ot would be wrong on me not to be greatful of the opportunity given. Overall its been a great experience in terms of traveling and seeing different places and again meeting new people. Yet like any other jobs ,done days are better than other in terms of working hours.

Great learning experience
It is a great learning experience, i have learnt a lot however i am looking for a bigger opportunity. I have grown with the company from a department manager and oversaw and achieved a lot at edcon, the hours do become difficult.

Knowing your customer's is the best along with the smile
Working at Cna was good n challenging coz we r working with different types of people but dedication and team work was working for me.being competitive, talkative and dedicated for me it was normal coz dats who I am .I don't like to be defited.when coming to sales coordinating , selling cellphones ,stationary n partworks plus operating a till that's where I enjoy the most cos I wil be learning n meeting different kind of customers,solving problem even thou is challenging bt at the end of the day every body must be happy.if u have happy customers than everything is going to be smooth by the end of the day.wat I learned at Cna is to be passioned to everybody especially the customers and always wear a smile on your face plus tidyness and have dedication n team work.

Customer service
It could be a normal day with jst serving the customer or a busy dat when reserving stock and serving customers. I have learned to do schedule for staffing and how to prepare sales target for the department or store. To do stock control sheet, understand the taget market. I injoyed working with the team. What was challenging sometimes was to meet the customers erequist but will always find ways to solve customers queries

Good company bad managers
Edcon its a good company to work for but the management they don't follow procedures its bad for company they just react without knowing what must be done before u take a serious action on the employee

Good learning environment
Since I came to this company I have learned a lot about customer service and dealing with stakeholders. I have a good relationship with my co-workers and enjoy working difficult customers
