It iaitit was normal working days and my relationship with my co-workers was great. I have learned a lot fro from the company n have grown. I ejoyed my work until I got retrenched. The most challenging part of the job was I it kept me on my toes n I had to do my tasks always on time although I managed.itjust a normal workiit ng days

My experience at edcon
I am working in a very diversified working environment where learning never ends. There is exposure to different departments for personal growth if you are willing to learn. We are like one big family and we learn from each other. I had to learn to learn all operational areas due to my role of Quality Auditing. I enjoyed calibration sessions as there is a high level of engagement.
Pros: Growth opportunities
Cons: Pressurized environment in terms of meeting deadlines.

I am a quick learner and have worked with customers for a long time so i have learned to relate . I have good communication skills and good at convincing.

Good communication and unity
..enthusiasm, well encouraged and more skills ....have more knowledge... I learn very fast to... Communication and unity... Less salary and less hours for ppts...no promotion of recognition... For credit department where I work it's hard cause we have to approach customers in a good manner and others customer test your patient but still it's challenges cause we have to look happy all the time

Excellent industry to gain various skills
Edcon has given me a chance to be of great excellence. Allows one to prove themselves in offering a good service. Has a lot of rewards and opportunities. Strick management and a field of professionalism. I have learnt to respect time and other people's views.

Fast and easy learner with loyalty and time keeping
No easy learning person, I enjoy working with other people and I respect them , I put my work first , what I like about the me the most is that I don’t forgot where I come from which makes me take each every opportunity with both hands the most challlenging aspect is when I fail to make my work acrcoding time given

Job description
I started working for this company in 2006 as a temp and because of my determination on what I do they took me on the 1 year course and they gave me a permanent employment and they moved me from Mall to the store in Town and I worked there as the head cashier, stockroom(receiving stock). After I was promoted to be the Merchandise and I applied for the credit associate post they took me and I am working close with the management. Now I am doing the following: Inquiries Batch Cards Cash Office Banking Administration (Filling) Stork Room (receive stork and Filling)
Pros: the shop opens at 09:00 and we need to be at the shop around 08:00
Cons: we do work long hours during stock taking and the last day of the Month

Job opportunities slow
Very fast moving pace, no co-operation among colleauges from different departments. Slow in converting contract work to permanent employment. Not family orientated.

Good training skills provided
The company is not making money at all,I'm scared that one day I will find myself unemployed or rettrenched.At moment I'm working two jobs a day which is receiving and dispatch,and doing store admin dealing with queries that you find that my company did not pay suppliers
Pros: They are good at training skills but failing to promote or giving me management position
Cons: Very long hours we are working,public holidays payment is like playing with ours not paying double even sunday
