My duties at Eskom
I often work with sampling, sample analysis using instruments, calibration of these instruments and also maintenance. My co-workers and I believe in team work. When someone is over worked or when someone requires assistance in anything, we always help each other. That is the reason why even though my job is to be a chemistry technician, I will occasionally join engineers in plant inspection and maintenance. I have learnt a lot in my job things like sampling, sample analysis, sample preparation, LIMS capture, fixing and maintenance of laboratory instruments, water purification and also how to do plant inspection. There is nothing I enjoy most with my job than laboratory instrument repairs. Analysis are great but when it comes to fixing of laboratory instruments, that is where I excel and I would like nothing more than getting an opportunity to work with something I enjoy. it won't even feel like working.

Good dat analysing data, writing documents and reports and deriving gaps in the systems.
A typical work day for me will include attending strategic meetings and regularly presenting on SHEQ issues, reviewing strategic documents (Policies, procedures, standard), analysing data, advising the business on SHEQ matters and writing reports amongs other things. I am a team worker and able to work alone as well as I am a self motivated individual.
Pros: Im empowering myself on a daily basis y learning new things so that I can be excellent in my field and above.
Cons: Try to do a lot in little time.

Eskom was an good learning curve for HR and Industrial Psychology.
A typical day at the workplace is not that stressful unless the workload we have in of a sensitive time frame. We work as freelances, so that means e work remotely but we do comminate regularly with headquarters and team members to share tips, difficulties and such. What I enjoy is to overcome new challenges and to improve the overall efficiency of work ensuring that all team members are advancing themselves in their careers. The most challenging aspect of the job is if we get long files that require a lot of time to complete and even additional manpower if needed.
Pros: Great working hours and the potential to earn as much as you want to.
Cons: Frustrating long lengthened files that are a nightmare to transcribe and edit.

Day: Receive work instructions from the Supervisor and complete work timeously , also assisting fellow colleagues . Co-workers: always have a good relationship with co-workers always willing to assist with them and coaching Apprentice Learnt lots of skills through out my career.

Very challenging tasks such as financial decisions on behalf of management and the company itself
The company is trying cutting costs and now allowing less maintenance and design work, therefore boredom is setting in. Every work day is now becoming long. All colleagues in my department co-operate well with me, they are always willing to help including presenting for me if I am not available. I have learnt that team work always defeat difficulties and challenges at work place. When ever my scope of work is being implemented to solve maintenance or design issues I get overjoyed but the most challenging part is when I have to do presentations and being cross questioned during design or maintenance funds requesting in order to implement the scope of work.
Pros: I am about to write last paper of my GCC and I have been ECSA accredited as a professional Engineer, promotion is just at hand.
Cons: My company maintenance work requires working even at weekends since we are being classified as essential service to the country.

I have gain a lot of skills cable jointing & maintanance
Eskom is a very well established company with many skills that help to grow in a company,its in world wide. its ensures continuity of supply to all customers,the company strive to zero harm to employees public,animals as well as enviroment
Pros: every one need electricity
Cons: you work 8 hours a day as normal hours
