Excellent
Mr AS Ndlela is a Male, Civil Engineering Technologist. I have more than sixteen years’ experience in the Construction Project Industry. I am currently working as a FIDIC Engineer and a NEC Project Manager on various Construction Contracts, doing effective planning and implementation of NEC and FIDIC contracts, evaluation, risk assessment, dispute resolution, administration of contracts and controls, as required. I have also worked as a Contracts Manager and as a Facilities Manager including Fleet Management in my previous site. Apart from the vast Project Management experience, I have tremendous site Technical Experience that comes highly from the period I spent as an NEC Site Supervisor for a client and as a Construction Technician for a contractor. I also have more than three years’ experience in design and drawing on various Civil Engineering designs and drawings. I am a career driven individual and I have drifted from Technical designing to Construction Project Management since August 2010.

Took company from good to great
It was challenging a lot since we were interfacing with different kinds of customers for different queries. I had a good relationship with my co-workers as i was their leader they wish me to come back. I learnt to be disciplined, focus and be detailed. I enjoyed solving employee and customer problems. The challenging part of my job was when i failed to help my customer due to company policy which i could not change.
Pros: I was taught to be a self starter and be innovative
Cons: I enjoyed to assist a customer even after hours without overtime payment

Great working exposure and experience
My experience working as a designer is interesting as i encounter different challenges from project to project. My work environment requires one to think out the box due to merging correct technical abilities with minimal costing and priority. My work division has shaped me into an individual who can work in any work force, be it in a group or alone. I have developed great working ethos by working for a my division. I have space to grow and hence willing to explore elsewhere.

Excellent Career development
Typical work day: I always start my day as early as possible with a clear mind "early bird catches the fattest worm" and "punctuality is the best morality" those are my drive. Relationship with colleagues: We all come from different backgrounds with different challenges in life.I try to always have a good ear to listen and not be judgmental towards other people challenges in life. What I have learnt: It doesn't matter how old or young a person might be to you, you can learn one or two things from each person you listen to. What I enjoy most: I like to have that time where I am alone and reflect back and analyse my mistake as well as achievements and plan ahead Most challenging aspects of the job: Delays, I always wants to be on time with a proper output

It was a good learning environment
Working for this company has trained me to be able to work in teams where by you learn to interact, exchange or share ideas with different kind of people and also individually where time management and planning was expected to be excellent at all times. Every morning before work we would have safety meetings in the office were by we read incident flash reports everyone interact and come up with solutions or suggestions to avoid the occurrence of such incidents weather occurred on site or inside the office. This type of industry have tough me to work hard, under pressure and to be extra careful especially when working with excel for Bill of Quantities. I have be granted an opportunity to stand on the panel and present my Projects and that gave me a platform to learn more from their advises.

Excellent working environment and learning
I was overseeing the operations of customer load network,ie, maintenance , fault investigations, projects, mentoring and couching.I worked well with the team. I gained knowledge of project management. I liked the management responsibilities most. The most challenging aspects are dealing with the customers who are not team members ito when there is a fault to investigate, we should work together by sharing information.
Pros: Promotion opportunities were becoming less by the day because of gender HR targets
Cons: We worked very hard and long hours but with little rewards or nothing at all.

Work culture with an impact
_ engineering based company with alot ofdifferent engineering problems to solve _ the company allows me to work with different people in the company and the company business partners _ my work and my role is my department is clearly defined A typical work day is exciting, i get to assist different power stations to solve their engineering problems _ most of my coworkers are my customers i have a great relationship with them. Now and then we have a difference of opnion and conflict managment and compromise sometimes is the answer
